Because Matheny is retarded. Injured? Haven't pitched in 3 weeks? Just a meaningless game, get out there kid!
We also had rookies in both LF and RF, Descalso at first base, and Bourjos in CF, in a tie game in the postseason.
You just can't make that stuff up.

mathenys decision the other day was the best...1 out and he has Yadi sacrifice bunt the runner to 2nd. For those of us who regularly watch and keep up with the Cardinals know that this team has made it to the post season the last few years on talent alone and its had nothing to do with coaching
