How bad did Matheny mismanage the bullpen this series?

Pretty fricking badly.

I didn't think we had the offense at the beginning of the playoffs to get to the NLCS. So I was pleasantly surprised. The surprise HR hitting kept the Cards in every game. But the pitching managing was abysmal. I'll make sure I tell Mike at parent's night.

But it was also a manger mismatch. Matheny is almost as bad in basic strategy as Robin Ventura.

No question. He made Matheny his bitch.

I can only laugh. There was a vocal minority that hated everything about Larussa but would love to have him back the last two years.

Matheny is out of his element. He is making mistakes young managers make in the minors honing their trade but doing it in the NLCS and World Series.

Its embarrassing that he is the negative focal point in the last two years play off runs.

I dont want to take anything away from the Giants in this conversation however. They played great. They are a well disciplined and well managed team that deserves to be in the World Series again. Im just pining on the terrible decision to hire Mike Matheny as manager. I dont expect anyone here to feel sorry for Cardinals fans obviously.

Like I said earlier, Good Luck to the Giants. They will be a great representative for the National League in the Fall Classic.

Not really, they speak the truth. .

Are you really gonna sit here and argue that Twitter fans are the voice of logic and reason?

It's clear, Mike is much better at Real Estate than managing a bullpen, this is very clear.

I would allow him to purchase my house at a decent price, due to future earning potential.

I would get him a nice hunting knife as a closing gift

Possibly, idk whose better. I love Ned Yost but the royals have won in spite of him at times
