Tafoya actually called it a momentous night for him. In actuality wouldn't playing a game be the absolute polar opposite of "momentous" in this situation.

There would've been nothing wrong whatsoever with him missing last night's game but it's up to every single individual whom has to deal with such an unfortunate circumstance to choose their path. He chose to play.

Really impressive performance by Smith. I remember watching Favre's performance against the Raiders on MNF after his father died and couldn't help but be amazed. Smith's performance was just as impressive IMO.
