Had respect for that man as a kid. RIP
How many coaches today can pull this off?

Didn't he have the quote to that official...

'You know what the NFL stands for? Not For Long when you make calls like that'

Broke my heart when they were intentionally hosed at Pittsburgh in 1979-1980. Oilers caught that ball, won that game. Loved the Bummer..loved the cowboy hat..Luv Ya Blue!

I loved the man growing up.
I was a Houston oiler fan growing up. They were my favorite AFC team. Of course my team was the saints and watched bum there with wade. Sorry to see him go RIP Bum

Bum was born in the same place I was, Orange Texas. I was raised just across the Sabine in SW La.

Wade & I are the same age so we ran into each other occasionally at some social establishments near the Tx state line. The drinking age back in the mid '60s was very loosely enforced.

Bum was certainly a one of a kind coaching legend. His players universally loved playing for him.

RIP at that big ranch in the sky Bum

I was a huge Oilers fan when I was a kid during the "Luv Ya Blue" era. I still remember that song they played during the games.
