Bringing out all the cliches.

"That's the way it's always been!"

"You have a criticism? Stop watching!"

Lol so let me get this straight, you're going to continue watching a product that you disagree with?

Either you're just weird and like watching things that you don't enjoy, or it doesn't really bother you that much at the end of the day.

That's so ridiculous, IMO. A batter celebrates a good play and the pitcher gets his sensitive feelings hurt, so he hits him with a 95mph fastball next time around?

I think the pitcher should celebrate after every strikeout like he just won the lottery... maybe an X chop over the nut sack and yell "SUCK IT" when he whiffs a hitter with a great change up!!

All I know is I saw Bryce hit a homer last year on July 4th in Washington DC using a big arse Stars and Stripes painted baseball bat and it was American as shite.

Let Bryce Swag

Friend's brother is high up at Marucci and he knows all the big players, says Harper is down to earth and cool in person.

Oh I'm totally for it. Most guys do it right. I love a little batflip action, but it's guys like Valbuena who batflips a fricking pop fly and then whenever they do hit a home run act like they just won the world series and take five minutes to go around the bases when they do it. Those are the guys I'm saying I have no problem with beaning.

Bryce fires me up. He plays with a passion and excitement for the game that is unrivaled.

There is not one rule that I think is wrong in baseball, no lol. I think it's fine where it is.

The only rule in any sport that pisses me off is the targeting penalty in football because they get it wrong half the time. I like the rule in general, but they call it wrongly 20 percent of the time.

Well this new slide into second base on a dp rule is kind of bullshite and basically the MLB version of targeting

Anyone that hates Harper and tries to justify it as a rational thought is an imbecile

Anyone that's a fan of plunking a hitter for something that isn't ridiculously extreme is also an imbecile

Disagree on the second bit for standard non-dangerous plunking unless we concede that watching fighting sports or celebrating big hits in football is also imbecilic.

Violence is the crux of the other two sports. The game of baseball would change very little if you removed the purposeful HBP.

Golfers don't turn around and smoke balls at other golfers for fist pumping birdies; rocketing basketballs at opponents' faces for throwing their hands up after a 3 isn't an accepted part of basketball.

You want to strategically come inside and accidentally hit a guy? So be it. Intentionally throwing a ball at someone for not sprinting around the bases as swiftly as the pitcher prefers shouldn't be a significant part of the game.

Only two things I don't like about baseball are pegging a batter when he showboats too much for the pitcher's liking and blatant take out slides at second when they are making no attempt at the bag.

I should just stop watching? Like every single rule, written or unwritten, or stop watching? Lol

You're in favor of the ejection for targeting rule?

No problem with any NFL rules?

Baseball is not a "tired" game either. It's been played 155 years and people still want to play it. Real "clown move"

"Make baseball fun again" it must not be too fun being one of the youngest super stars. It must not be fun to face the best of the best.

Another guy taking it out of context?
quote:

And then there's the larger obstacle: the game's stern code. Case in point: Papelbon vs. Harper. It started when Orioles third baseman Manny Machado hit a home run against the Nationals last September and reacted with too much excitement, so Jonathan Papelbon drilled him the next time Machado came to bat, which caused Harper to suggest to reporters that baseball's code is "tired," which led to Papelbon berating and then choking Harper four days later after the closer found his teammate's hustle lacking -- a Rube Goldberg display of baseball's grim underside.
quote:

"Baseball's tired," he says. "It's a tired sport, because you can't express yourself. You can't do what people in other sports do. I'm not saying baseball is, you know, boring or anything like that, but it's the excitement of the young guys who are coming into the game now who have flair. If that's Matt Harvey or Jacob deGrom or Manny Machado or Joc Pederson or Andrew McCutchen or Yasiel Puig -- there's so many guys in the game now who are so much fun.
