there are two people arguing that harper should have been ejected and even they say they umpire was wrong. Why not just admit the umpire was wrong and if this wasnt Harper, the umpire would not have done this. Hell, this is the second time he has made a terrible call against Harper

Well he has already admitted he was wrong previously and then lied about that...so I highly doubt he actually admits he was wrong again.

I would like to know what Harper said. That is why I think he got tossed, it wasn't his actions.

They do not release the umpire's reports do they? I thought that was one of the bargaining points when they got a new CBA.

You seriously are hanging on to the "bryce did what he was told" argument, aren't you?

I asked earlier if he has a reputation and never got an answer. Is this based on this one incident?

quote:

Harper was heated by a call Hudson made in August 2013 that ended the game for the Nationals. After Harper was called out on a check swing, Harper yelled something to Hudson in anger. Harper said after the game:

I think in that situation you can’t really call that, especially when the home plate umpire says no about three times and doesn’t want to check. And they obviously check and they bang me. That’s one less pitch I get to see against him, possibly a 2-2 fastball. Kimbrel is a great closer. I think trying to see as many pitches as you can against him is huge and the deeper I get in the count it makes me stronger. Harper told reporters, “I just told him how good he was and how good he looked.”

It was personal because of their history. But keep defending the shitty ump's terrible actions.

I love how you're taking up for an incompetent, control-freak umpire

If you don't think Harper did anything wrong ...YOU are the fool here.... Harper showed his arse by tip-toeing his foot into the batters box..... Being a smartass.. Just like in the NBA A tech would have def been called.......

You understand that harper doing something wrong and the ump being incompetent and a control freak, can coexist, right? Ump's fault though. At that point anything less than falling perfectly in line and looking away was going to get him tossed.

such a great explanation from the ump...
quote:

Hudson insisted that wasn’t the reason. “Had nothing to do with the box,” he told a pool reporter. “He didn’t like the pitch, and I let him have his say, going and coming. “The dugout didn’t like it, and one thing led to another and I had to run him. I had to eject him.” Read more at: LINK /

I think baseball needs to fix this as a whole. Some of their ejections are crazy

So the Tail can wag the dog.... That's what will happen.... Players need to be held accountable for their actions... If they aren't the umps will have zero control... You are right the MLB needs to fix the attitudes of these overpaid crybabies....

i don't know how this makes him look any better. The tiptoeing into the box was the only thing that even remotely mitigated the circumstance for the ump.

You're out of your league here, man. Stick to Michigan football from the 1950s.

But not the ump that instigated the argument by taking his mask off and approaching the dugout after Harper shut is mouth and was in the box ready to bat?

That was all well before anyone got tossed

Perhaps Harper said something on his way to the box.

The umpire had rabbit ears, that much is pretty apparent.

If he doesn't like the arguing of balls and strikes, run the damn manager.

So stupid that he put all the event together and decided to run Harper.

Terrible officiating.

My eyes work just fine dude........ I saw what I saw. Did the ump cause some of this??? Sure. But If Harper would have just stepped back into the box like he should have I would not have a problem with anything else he did........

Like pointing to the ground and saying "this is where i was?" after being told to get back in the box?
