It would be great if they win and all that but what Cleveland really wants is a Browns championship. I guess they'll settle for Cavs, but grandpa is still waiting for ghost of Paul Brown to resurrect that team.

Varies based on who you ask but my preference is Indians > Cavaliers > Browns.

It's a lot easier for the best player in the league to win a championship for their team in basketball than it is for baseball or football. Cleveland sports fans better take what they can get for now cause the Browns and Indians aren't going to be in contention for a championship for a long time.

I'm not from Ohio so I can't speak for them, but I have spend a good deal of time in the state and with natives.

That said, it's obviously personal preference, but if you took a poll I'd say you're correct--the Cavs would come in last. However, the fact that their best player is from the region and the whole saga makes it much more impactful that it would otherwise be because they're cheering for more than just a collection of uniforms. Plus guys like Dellavedova, Thompson, Irving all started in the organization.

A number of NBA teams (OKC, Memphis, Utah, San Antonio, Sacramento, Portland etc) are hugely popular because they're the only game in town. I'd say the Cavs are in the category as say the Nuggets, Wizards, Bucks as they've been around better part of 50 years, had little success overall, and while generally supported the Broncos, Redskins, Packers are unquestionably the life blood of local sports fans.

When you haven't won anything in forever, I'm assuming you take what you can get.

Weird. I thought this post would be a lot more popular with all the Cleveland "I've been a Cavs fan since birth. It's my hometown team. Don't judge my allegiance" types on the MSB....

No one outside of Ohio cares that much about the Indians or Browns.

From listening to local radio callers and living here for 12 years, I think a Browns title would be the personal favorite of the majority of Cleveland sports fans.

Your lack of self-awareness never ceases to amuse me.
