Not sure this is really a great move from the Braves...for the people fapping over this move from a Braves fan standpoint, please explain...

We now have one of the best lineups in baseball if BMac and Uggla can bounce back. Also kept big prospects that could if needed be flipped at the deadline to fill the only hole in the lineup, 3B.

im talking about chris johnson and prado but thanks

I was being serious, I thought Upton and Prado did have similar numbers. Go look at them side by side. But thanks for being a dick. I was actually having a serious conversation.

He is not a 30/30 guy.
he's a 20/20 guy easily and has hit 30 bombs before

doesnt matter anyway, we'll have 3 legit 20/20 guys in the outfield

Enjoy the underwhelming talent that is Justin Upton, Braves fans.

Chris Johnson will at least provide a breeze in the stadium during his at bats.

I made an irrelvant comparison? I misunderstood what you said and looked up the players numbers. I didn't make any "irrelevant comparison". I looked at 2 players numbers. Frick I was just asking what made Braves fans happy about this. I didn't bash any of the players involved. Trying to discuss the trade. Congratulations on being a fricking cocksucker.

3 years of Justin Upton>>>>> 1 year of Prado. We would have lost him in FA after this year.

That makes sense. Again not a Braves fan. I am a Cubs fan. Just looking at this trade as a fan of baseball wondering what people who actually knew stuff about the Braves thought about it.

but I am still wondering why we moved Prado last minute.

Because we weren't going to be able to afford to resign him after this season. So instead, we use him to get a big time player who will be in our lineup for years to come.

Yea, just saw this on twitter:

#Braves were willing to trade Prado after determining his asking price for multi-year ext. was $11M-$12M annually, higher than they would go

We lost an All-Star and gained an All-Star with a big upside and big downside. Upton can be an MVP type player and at worst is at least on par with Prado.

I forgot about Uggla.

I'm probably giving CJ too much hate. In a competent lineup, he's far from the worst problem. He's at least able to hold his own. Best case you'll probably get .250-.270 with 15-20 homers and 60-70RBI. That's decent production from third base in addition to what the Braves lineup should be doing. He's a pretty streaky though. He'll have times when he's on fire and other times when he can't do more than strikeout. And he WILL strikeout.... while never walking 132 strikeouts to 31 walks.

In the end though is it worth adding CJ to your lineup to get Justin Upton? Absolutely.

And you lost a clubhouse favorite for a guy everyone but his brother will dislike.
