I'd be more worried about the female athletic trainers now that Peyton has more time on his hands...

If they think he is a potential franchise QB, it would be crazy to trade him with Brady nearing the end of his career.
It would be equally crazy to trade Brady with possibly 3+ good years left for a guy they "think" could be a "potential" franchise QB. You're giving up 3+ legit SB chances on something that could end up going south.

If you trade 3-5 seasons of Brady away for a 4 game sample size, that's your funeral.
You simply can't give up a top 2-3 QB in the league for a guy who might be good down the road. You have to try to win when it's right there in front of you IMO.

Who is advocating trading Brady? It's not an either/or situation. No decision has to be made until the offseason before Brady's 41yo season.

Fair enough.

Looks like JG is under contract only until for the next 2 seasons. I'm not sure what the play would be in that case. Are you going to offer him a huge extension based on 4 games? What if Brady is still playing at a high level when JG's contract is coming to an end? He'll never have better trade value than after those 4 games if he plays really well.

Sure, but there's an equally inherent risk in standing pat as well.

It obviously boils down to what the Pats think about him. If they don't think he's the next franchise guy, they trade him. If they do think he's the next franchise guy, you have to keep him.

It's obvious they don't think he's the guy. Why would they have taken another QB as high as they did?

Let's say they do, they still have to sit him for the next 2 seasons.

Brady puts up 2 more Brady-like years, then what?

If they think he's a franchise guy, so will other teams. So he should get a solid return in a trade, most likely.

I have no idea why you guys are so convinced Brady has multiple years left. At such an advanced age, you could fall off the cliff immediately. He might be great for 3+ years, but he also could collapse asap.

No idea. Although I don't think taking a QB with the 91st overall picks means they obviously don't think he's the guy

For me I would say just because of the way he's tailored his game and the system he plays in. His game now is throwing short passes with a quick release, so he's a) not getting hit as much, and b) not putting a ton of strain on his arm. That doesn't mean that he couldn't have a freak injury, but I think his playing style is conducive to longevity

Two former besties like Kraft and Goodell who both think they're the most important man in the NFL and that the league will die without them, and have a shite-ton of money to prove it? You're damn right it is!

Now lets see how the Patriots really feel and if they'll pay him for those 4 games.

Well, they can't.

They basically already did pay him by lowering his per game $ and raising his contract bonuses, so the league gets less and he gets more.

If you're suspended, I don't think your game checks are paid out to the league?
