They'll go 2-2 or 3-1 with Jimmy Garoppolo, he'll get invaluable experience being the man in New England, the team is galvanized from the suspension and Brady's return, Brady comes back and gets them a 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs, and they have a gauge on whether Jimmy G is the future after Brady or not.

Will be a blessing in disguise for the Pats.

Remember last time they were 2-2 and everything was over FOREVER?

It'll be just like 2014. They'll be 2-2 and finish 13-3, win the pathetic AFC East by 4 games, and skull-frick the Bengals at home in the AFCCG because they don't have to face Peyton Manning on the road anymore.

Kinda like that contract the Colts recently handed Luck eh?

As for the suspension being upheld, it's horse shite but what can you do at this point? Goodell was given the power by the players, and is already going down as one of the worst commissioners of all time. That being said, this falls almost squarely on Bob Kraft. He could have sued the league, he could have caused upheaval, but he sat on his arse and did nothing except publish a couple of websites. It's tough to understand, as a fan, his rolling over.

In future news, you can thank Roger Goodell for causing a season-long lockout when negotiations start for the new CBA. This little power trip will cost a lot of money for the owners of the players strike.

All in all, I don't think this hurts the Pats chances at winning SB51 nor, does it hurt Brady's chances at breaking every NFL QB record in existence

So instead of 13-3 division champs and super bowl champs they'll be 11-5 division champs and super bowl champs

Why would the owners lock out the players over this? If the players strike so be it, they will get broken as always. They agreed to the terms and when it got used they got burned.

The owners are happy with Roger. He takes all the heat and they get nothing in terms of bad press.

The original decision to overturn the suspension was bogus and it is playing out that way.

It is pretty pathetic that Brady is going to sit out 4 games to start the 2016-2017 season for infractions that came to light immediately after the AFC championship game in 2015. He's played in and won a Super Bowl since then. He's played 16 regular season and 2 other playoff games since then.
The NFL is truly incompetent when it comes to handing out discipline.

Trade JG?
If it plays out that way with JG lighting it up for 4 games, I think NE basically has to trade him. His value will never be higher.

Brady is still playing at an elite level and could have 3-4 years left in him. You have to put that asset to use at its top value IMO.

I get the other side, trade the promising youngster while keeping the 38 year old...but Brady seems to still have a good bit left in the tank.

If they think he is a potential franchise QB, it would be crazy to trade him with Brady nearing the end of his career.

The players ultimately won't care. It'll cost them money to take his powers away, and it literally only effects like 3 players a year.

Brady just came off a season where he was the #2 guy for the MVP, and lead for the award until the offense started dropping like flies, and the way he's styled his play in this later stage of his career and they way he takes care of himself, he may get to the age 45 season he's aiming for.

If you trade 3-5 seasons of Brady away for a 4 game sample size, that's your funeral.

In the current system, Brady could play another 4-5 years, which would mean that Garoppolo could be approaching 30 by the time he becomes starter. I would think it makes some sense to try and trade him at his peak value
