Thanks Speedy. I had forgotten how blazingly fast he was.

Also, I didn't know he tried to fight Tyson after Ruiz and Mike wouldn't do it.

Great read. Thanks for sharing.

I am a very tough father too and at times I can tell my kids feel some type of way but I am not trying to be their friend I am trying to raise them into men. The friendship can come once they are men and they have a better understanding of why I do what I do.

yeah most of it is in Russia and I saw a pretty funny video of these Russian dudes listening to cant be stopped in a car and then a black hummer pulls up and RJJ rols downs the window and they freak out.

found the video it isn't as cool as I remembered LINK

Im not a fan of Boxing but that was a good article and I love that fricking song. dude was fast as frick too

Better sustained peak than anyone in my lifetime- for like a solid half decade or more he was essentially untouchable-- and not like Floyd where he just wouldn't ever get tagged but in the sense that he wouldn't get tagged and then would hit you with this insane barrage. Tyson was more intimidating but Roy was a far more complete fighter.

My favorite fighter ever. How do you think he will be remembered? Did he have enough marquee fights?

I was at the fight when he got knocked out by Antonio Tarver. He was layed out on the canvas longer than ive ever seen anyone. We waited and waited for him to get up and a big part of the crowd had already gone by the time he finally got up.
It was shocking because prior to that he was thought to be the best pound for pound fighter, maybe ever.

Edit: Glenn Johnson, not Tarver.

RJJ got up before the 10 count vs Tarver. Referee stopped that fight with RJJ wobbling around the ring. It was Glen Johnson that knocked him out cold for a long time.

Best fighter I've ever seen in person and one of the best pfp ever.

RJJr in his prime outclassed every fighter that he got in the ring with.

Went for the ko and was as good a defensive fighter as anyone

link for rjjr and toney

This fight was perfect for showcasing rjjrs skills. He dominated toney and made a very good fighter look like a chump
