I don't dislike Lafayette. I dislike the Ulala fans that are afraid to face reality and act like little bitches about all things LSU.

Thats what I dislike as well.
Its ridiculous that some of them think they are on our level. They are not close to us and never will be. There is no rivalry, they would have had to beat us for there to be a rivalry. Its a nice little community school and thats all it is.

Right, and that "scientific fact" was proven where? At the ULL Science Department?

Nah. I've lived in all 3 cities and Laffy is the best place to live. I've published papers on it in peer reviewed publications.

It's not like Lsu completely ignores ul like stated so much on here. Anytime a ul fan starts a thread on the msb Lsu fan will show up with witty Louisville comments or who, etc. And then when ul fan says something back its "they all hate us see!!" Then run back to a circle jerk thread like this one.

A lot of Lafayette natives think the world of their town, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just that very few leave for good or leave for an extended period to have something to compare Lafayette to. It's just a simple case of the small town blues.

You think that's just Lafayette? I know people in both Baton Rouge & New Orleans who never leave the city.

As a "Northeast Louisiana University" graduate, I find it funny that ULL fans would take this kind of position. Some of us that were born and raised in the state of Louisiana grew up loving LSU and knew there was only one flagship school for the state and it's not even close. To think that any other school believes they are on par with the likes of LSU is ridiculous. And I do appreciate where I got my BS, it has provided my family's livelihood, it's just not LSU!

Why would anyone waste the time "publishing" papers on such a subject? What type of scholarly journal are we talking about here where you subjectively tell us the city you like more?

I always call them ULL.

With that said, I went to ULL for a stint. When LSU would lose a game, it was the biggest deal on campus it seemed to dog the Tigers. Now that I'm at LSU, I can't EVER recall hearing about ULL from another student.

That's just the way it is. If anyone says ULL doesn't have penis envy, or LSU doesn't catch crap in Lafayette, they're full of shite.

Coming from a person who actually went to BOTH schools, I'd like to think I know what the hell I'm talking about.

Well don't go and get ahead of yourself, but yes you are 100% correct on this.

I don't see a circle jerk thread here at all. ULL fans get angry when LSU fans reference them by their actual name instead of placating their delusion of being a non-existent "University of Louisiana."

I did. After having my ULL corrected to UL, I asked if his school's name had been changed yet again....to the University of Lafayette.

It made his face all red again.

They aren't even the best school in their own system. UNO and La-Tech are both better (especially La-Tech).

University of Lafayette or University of Louisiana at Lafayette is more appropriate. The school spirit is nice to see....the hatred for the big brother down the road is not.

I honestly don't see very much ULL support in Lafayette. You can show up to their football games 15 minutes before kickoff and get a great parking space and comfortable seats with no problem.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. You can support multiple schools a number of ways.

My parents, for example, are both USL alums. They donate money back to ULL and the Alumni Association frequently. However, living in Baton Rouge for the past 25 years, they have come to also support LSU. They donate to both schools because they see value in both. Supporting one doesn't preclude you from supporting the other.

Yup. Nuff said.

I wondered over to the ULL board just to see what was going on. Delusional is too weak a word to describe these guys. One poster actually believes that Boise State should look up to them and that they will be a BCS power in a few years.
I guess we all have dreams, but BCS? really? Has ull ever even beaten an SEC ? Ever? A&m doesn't count because they just joined the SEC.
I predict Coach Hud bolts after this season and the program goes back to obscurity
