A small part of me wants to them leave Barstool entirely just to see how fast that company would crumble.

Barstool is doing pretty well outside of just PMT. PMT is a a very small part of their entire content layout in the grand scheme of things.

Also the main cogs of that operation like Big Cat and KFC have actual financial investments into the company so they aren't going anywhere

Good for them, can't wait to see it

I have no doubt that they'll still do the podcast all the same
I'm not worried about this at all. They deserve it. If it sucks, whatever.

As far as the podcast. I'm not sure they can be faces on ESPN and then turn around and keep doing their podcast the way they do. They'll be a legit target by the types of people who run ESPN..

I don't think it would completely collapse but I think a lot of followers might give up on it entirely save 1-2 podcasts and Donnies fantastic videos.

I mean that's their clear 1a and 1b talent.

Yea I don’t want this. Sounds like it won’t affect the podcast though.

It undoubtedly will. I love PFT and think the dude is smart as hell but if you follow his twitter & his blogs closely you'll notice a lot of the same jokes on the podcast the next day.

Trying to write a show, do a podcast, write blogs and run social media is a lot and they'll get stretched thin.

I do have a feeling Barstool has peaked and 2 years from now it's traffic will be way down. They have cratered to the SJW influence after the sellout/move to NYC. A lot of the non-PC, bro type stuff has been drastically reduced or completely eliminated. Some other site will come along and grab that sector of the market.

That may be but PMT is easily their most popular thing besides maybe Saturday's are for the boys hashtag.

They still would be barstool controlled employees. Barstool wouldn't be doing this deal if they weren't able to keep creative control over what the PMT guys are doing while under the barstool brand. That is a large money maker for them, they aren't gonna let them lease them with full control.

Rip barstool if they get with Espn. They are about to have to suck Roger goodells cock and become another pc sjw sports outlet

They've been around for a long time. And they got bought by a major media group before PMT was even created. There is a foundation there that PMT was built on for years before PFT came over and created the show with Big cat

At the very least they still have the ground roots of Boston that they still control. If they had to scale back to what they were, they could. But they are nationally syndicated on Sirius and now on ESPN, as well as their new venture on snap chat with Rone (who may be their most talented employee), and this isn't their first try into TV. They had a trial version of the rundown on CC but kind of blew that. But again you've got to be pretty big to even get that chance and that was completely separate of PMT

I can't believe this is as popular as it is. I hate it with a passion. If someone else yelled and asked me what Saturday's are for, I would completely ignore them.

I get that but we aren't talking in major detail about this if hypothetically KFC radio was hired by espn.

PMT would have done just as well if big cat joined sbnation, imo. Barstool core audience was/is very regional.

The SAFTB thing is the worst part of barstool. You can tell everyone there hates it except that it prints fricking money.

I have no doubt it would've done fine, but so would Barstool. People seem to think that PMT is what put barstool on the map, when it was really just them getting bought up and the money that flowed in allowed them to branch out and start expanding past just a Boston smut blog

And the real key to any of this is that KFC and Big cat are going anywhere until Portnoy sells his remaining part of ownership. Then they'll all cash in.

You think Espn will let them keep making goodell clown shirts and the like?

Also bye to their awesome fratatsic game day show if they go big time with espn. There will be no more beer on the stage lol. It's happened to other grass roots blogs and sites. The bigger they get the more pc they become. It is the nature of the beast

I feel like espn is just trying to frick with my sports radio. SVP & russillo was daily gym podcast listen. PMT was a commute to work and finish at work podcast.

I am not about to watch some 11:30pm tv show

Yes. If they were that uncomfortable with any of that they wouldn't be letting their entire talent roster do an interview with PMT.

They also gave a lot of FaceTime to that clown shirt after the pats won the Super Bowl last year

They aren't buying barstool. They are collaborating to create a show.
