One more time. He is talking about how the CFPC changed what the most important parameters for access are from '14 to '16. I'm sorry but I don't know how to explain any more clear for you but it's clear that your Buckeye glasses are blinding you as to what the actual point he is making is.

Yes, I know what Ohio State did this year and what TCU/Baylor did then. I also know what Washington did this year. That does not change that in '14 it was made clear that winning your conference via title game was the most important factor to get in and now suddenly it's not. They said having a mediocre OOC would get you knocked down a peg and now it doesn't. They are trying to have things both ways and it's obvious the logos on the helmets are what will be the true swing vote.

But go ahead and keep being angry just b/c there is a legit gripe to OSU getting in this year if it makes you feel better.

This is my number one complaint. The committee is a joke.

Don't push this line of thinking, encourage a conference to add a championship game, then suddenly go "oh well it's really not that big of a deal"

The bitching about Washington is ridiculous. They won the 2nd best conference in the country. They're ahead of Clemson in the BCS computer polls. Their loss is to one of the hottest teams in the country.

They deserve to be in the playoffs.

He wasn't arguing that the Big12 should have a team in this year...

He's arguing that the committee seems to change the criteria every year to fit the teams they want.

I remember the committee scolding the Big12 about no conference champ game a few years ago.

They said playing in that 13th game was very important to getting in.

And the committee did emphasize rewarding tough non-conference opponents because that's what the fans want to see and it's crucial in evaluating teams.

I think he was more upset with UW than OSU... because their schedule was the old way of doing things.

and the Okies lost to the non-champ.

He does have a legit gripe about 2014 though. TCU was #3 in the Massey Composite, Ohio State was #4, and Florida State was #5. Dropping TCU 3 spots in the final rankings was complete horseshite based on resume. If the committee didn't have the balls to leave out the undefeated reigning champion, they should have kicked out OSU.

ETA: To put it another way, the CFP got it right this year and got it wrong in 2014. You can't justify both years though.

Again, the guy is saying the committee keeps changings whay they say is important for being in the playoff. Its clear that they deem one reason more important than thebothr based on who they want in the playoff.

He is not arguing that any big 12 team shouod get in this year.

ETA: i saw your edit late

I guarantee you that if Ohio St and Penn state's records were reversed Ohio state would get in because they would say they won their conference. I think the playoff committee just lost a lot of credibility.

He isnt arguing for any big 12 team to get in this year.
He is talking about the committee favoring one aspect of the vote over another to benefit a team they like.

The committee just confirmed that they fricked it up in 2014.

TCU didn't play in their CCG and they also had a terrible OOC schedule...

He's talking about Washington getting in with a similar OOC schedule as TCU that year.

Again they won their CCG, TCU didn't. They both clearly had a bad OOC schedule.

With out a doubt. They did this in the BCS too once they made the computers less important.

Does anyone really believe that in 2011 if it were texas or Oklahoma with the far better resume than bama, they get left out?

Eta: you gumps im not saying bama wasnt the best team.

Its was most important factor because the two teams were comparable...it was the tiebreaker.

How is this that hard to understand for people.

When their controversial selection turned out to be the best team in the country?

Also didn't help that this commissioner refused to declare a true conference champion in 2014.

I mean he can't argue Ohio State, since Ohio State went to Oklahoma and beat his conference champ by 3 TDs

Was my first thought as well. Lose to a team on the field then expect to get in? Who does he think he is, Ohio State?
