I doubt Scott Drew is going to be a candidate for HC.

Wow, he and Mulkey could potentially get show-cause penalties. And this didn't even address the Hanner Perea issue.

Gathers should want to go to LSU and help rebuild their program. Why would you want to go to Baylor knowing they are going to get popped?

Maybe this increases our chances of still getting Gathers!

Y'know, if he avoids the show-cause sanction, this might increase his availability. The idea being, it'll cool off Baylor's commitment to match another school's offer, and he might need a change of scenery.

Things would surely have to all be done right if he were to come, though

baylor is one of dirtiest schools on the country...you dont turn that good, from being that bad that quickly. Everything from football, to bball, to womens...why would anyone want to go to Waco, Texas...think about that.

Will they make them vacate wins, such as this past season's undefeated run by the women's team?

In other news, aren't they still on extended probation from the Dave Bliss stuff early in the 2000s where the one player killed another one and the entire team was told to claim the dead kid was a drug dealer?

EDIT - Yep... from the article on the mid-2000s scandal:

quote:

The university's probation was extended until June 22, 2010.

Violations taking place in 2008 squarely fall in the repeat-offender category.

If the NCAA is in a vindictive mood, Baylor men's basketball could go bye-bye.

The major issue at play here is that a large % of these violations occured while they were on probation through 2010.

That could be a big BIG problem for Baylor.

Wasn't Baylor also investigated last year, too?

Shocker.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear something about their football team next.

This has been coming for a while. I'd be more surprised if something came out about football, they haven't been pulling in top recruiting classes and Briles doesn't have near the shitty rep amongst his peers that Scott Drew has. Definitely possible though.

So the NCAA did an investigation of Baylor and only came away with impermissible phone calls and texts? Drew isn't that clean, and if he is, Baylor would be one of the cleanest programs in the country.
