Mccarthy has averaged 154 innings over his last four years and got to 200 last year. Hell get at least 150, probably more like 175 or 180. I dont think its crazy to expect well get 150 innings out of anderson, mgowan, and beachy (when he comes back of course)

I kind of think it is optimistic to get 150 out of those three. Again, I do not Believe Beachy pitches in 2015. McGowan is terrible now. Anderson is the most injury prone player in the game. Plus, I doubt all three even make the rotation. They will not accumulate many innings in the pen anyway.

I would go McCarthy 180
Anderson 70
Beachy 30
McGowan 60 before being sent to Triple A

Last year the Dodgers pitched 1462.2 innings
Kershaw 200 innings
Greinke 200 innings
Ryu 175 innings
McCarthy 175 innings

still leaves 173 innings between relievers and #5 starter assuming each pitcher reaches the innings I gave them.

Giants- Hunter Pence injury cast a huge question mark, will Cain bounce back, what about the Freak, how will McGhee replace Panda

doomed.

Freak does not have velocity. I am still amazed he pitched a no-hitter last season.
McGhee will not be close.
Buster has no protection now.
Cain will not have the velocity.

"wait til next year".

Shouldn't the Orioles, defending AL East champs, be on this list? Anyway, that's who I would say as most vulnerable.
I think the Blue Jays win that division.
Nevertheless, I think all of the AL teams listed are vulnerable. Red Sox have a mediocre rotation; Tigers will flop, if not this year, then next year; I don't trust Seattle, but think they make the playoffs. Don't trust KC either; White Sox have defensive holes and back of the rotation issues.
In NL, Nats, Pirates, Cards, Dodgers look solid. Giants will take a step back. Cubs - not a believer for 2015. Padres will be really interesting - let's see how they gell.

im iffy on the sox. I thought the front office majorly dropped the ball on the lester situation this offseason. I like some of the moves but i didn't like dealing AR away for bullpen help.

Even as a Cubs fan, I can't see them in the postseason this year

Decent enough shot at the wild card 2 spot. Think fan graphs had them at a 40% chance to make the post season and Johan Keri ranked them as the 5th best national leave team. Both are reasonable. Can talk about Lester all you want but arietta and hammel make a good top 3 with interesting 4 and 5 options. Bullpen should be really good too. I'm not banking on them but I can certainly see it happening. Especially of they're competitive at the trade deadline because the cubs have the player currency to get any deal done of they chose to.

Hammel is a league average pitcher, at best.
He had a career year in those 4 months in Chicago, then reverted to his career form in Oak.
Cubs fans act like what he did in those 4 months is his norm and will be replicated...the odds are that he won't come close to doing so.
Cubs had some sneaky career years last year. that plus reliance on rookies - don't see much better than 80 ish.

Jake Arrieta is better than Lester. JA will challenge for the NL Cy

Cubs won't make the playoffs this year, though

Jake Arrieta?

He's been the best pitcher on the team and should have been an all-star

Odd picking this thread to bump. There were other, much longer prediction threads.

That being said, I'd say Harper has broken out a little bit. Nats bullpen stinks and Zimmerman stunk before he got hurt, so good job there.

I started reading this thread with no idea it was a bump and saw the Padres and had a complete WTF moment.

The discussion in here about BMac and how many innings we would get out of him makes me . What a miserable signing.
