B1G Coaching Hot Seat?

Read the article on ESPN talking about how there could be 4-5 coaches that get fired this year in the B1G. I say its about time. This current group of coaches in B1G is the worst it has ever been. Even the coaches who are doing good, im not that high on. Who gets the axe at the end of the season? I say the following:
Done:
Michigan
Illinois
Indiana
Hot seat:
Purdue
Rutgers
Northwestern (surprisingly)
Maryland
With the talk of coaches like Harbaugh and Schiano out there, these guys have to be feeling the heat. What say you?

That Penn State win probably allows Edsell to hang around another year.
The fans down here have always had very low expectations for MD football.

It's a valid point in terms of comparing conferences.
Of the ones currently, Meyer/Dantonio are obviously fantastic, Franklin will do really well at PSU. I like Jerry Kill as well.

Depends on the finish; 4-5 currently

Hazell is in yr 2 right now, but he needs to make more progress next year.

Maybe, but Nothing like starting 5-1, and perhaps ending up 5-7

Purdue firing Hazell would be a head scratcher. Not sure you can expect more in year 2 considering the talent that was there when he joined.

Went to the OSU/Ill game, Illinois is just bad, they need a new coach and can do better quite frankly.

He is already in year 4. No progress, i dont care if they did beat Missouri. IU expanded their stadium a couple of years ago. Wilson isnt getting enough butts in the new seats.

It doesnt help him that Schiano's name is being thrown around again.

Pat Fitzgerald isn't on any hot seat
If anything, he'll leave for a bigger job or the NFL this offseason

Wilson is getting another year. They have improved every year and they are competitive generally. This year they would've been okay if they don't lose 3 QB's to injury/transfer and play a true Frosh who isn't ready.
They may make him get a DC but other than that they're safe.

To say that Fitzgerald isnt starting to feel some heat is naive. They were terrible last year and arent much better this year. NW use to be a 8 win team and they are regresing. There is pressure starting to mount. I agree though, i dont know if NW ever fires him, but i could see them mutually going their own ways. Fitzgerald would do well at a shool where he could get more talent. I just think its getting to a point where they have reached a ceiling and now they are regressing. Dont be surprised if NW is looking for a new coach at the end of the season. Having said that, it would be weird not seeing Fitz on the sidelines for NW.

Hazell is a good coach n purdue can't do much better

I just dont know if i agree with that. His overall record is 13-31 with losses to Ball St (x2), Bowling Green and North Texas. I dont know how that is competitive?

I think Hazell gets another year. They have improved this year. Next year they need to show real signs of improvement and if they dont, he will start to feel some pressure. Cant get waxed by the directional Michigan teams and expect to keep your job!

If Flood doesn't beat Indiana, his time may be up. Won;t beat Mich State or Maryland so Big ten season a flop and an embarrassment (Not that it wasn't expected).
Big issue will be Franklin coming into New Jersey and signing everybody under Rutgers nose. Needs to stop if RU wants to play with the big boys.

Coaching is an excuse. There is just not enough talent in the midwest.
Check recruiting rankings. Ohio State and ND are the only teams recruiting well this year from the midwest

bullshite.
Coaching is the main issue.
Coaches bring recruits, we all know that. James Franklin already has Penn State in the top 10 in year one

exactly Franklin is a breath of fresh air and getting Penn State back on track

UNT and Ball St were not this year. BG was. But they were on verge of bowling this year. If you don't think IU is light years ahead of when he took over I don't know what to tell you. The Mellencamp endorsement is huge and with that they've improved the facilities. They're getting more people now (just by looks on tv) then before.
Their Defense is the worst in CFB but that offense is powerful. He will get a year.

Hazzell is marginal right now, and the rest you left of that list are mostly beyond awful.
Coaching is a major issue.

Not sure how you expect some of these teams to be successful when they are recruiting in the 30s each and every year.
Which coach is going to magically turn Iowa or Purdue or Illinois into a competitor with that talent they bring in?
