Holy shite why?

Something def happened. He’s just getting through the worst part of a rebuild. That team is primed to compete in the next few years with their stacked farm system

Yep. Rumors came out a couple of weeks ago that everyone in the FO and staff hated him. It was a matter of time.

Saw on twitter something about Latin America signings, apparently he's been under MLB investigation for a few months.

ETA: Rosenthal is saying Circumvention of Int'l signing rules. Special Assistant to the GM Gordon Blakely involved also

Not sure of which Rule was broken, but it could be any number of things.

Haven't seen anyone speculate on punishment as of yet. It appears fairly serious, they are saying it's unlikely that Coppolella resurfaces with any MLB team.

ETA: From Passan: MLB was looking into everything from Braves Int'l operations to its domestic draft to Coppolella's treatment of Braves employees.

Ripping a signed player off a roster would be an unprecedented move. Doubtful.

Now draft picks? Yeah I’m scared about that 8th overall pick...

That's not happening

More likely. But really, we have zero facts at this point so who knows.

I saw that after the 2016 international signing period we were sort of put in a spending penalty box to limit our spending for the next year. I'd hope they wouldn't take a player already signed to our roster.

Manford has been rather weak on punishments, highly doubt we lose any signees. Would expect an international ban for a year and another year in the penalty box.

They aren't going to take a player off your roster. Draft picks and bonus money though possibly
