I had the same odd experience. I opened the thread on the MSB, made my post, and all of a sudden I was on the Pels board. I was so confused.

while true, the whole team minus AD is a collection of retread cast offs who would still be on their previous teams if not for a big flaw or 2. yes, they are talented on paper, but in the stacked west, they are unlikely enough to make it to the second season.

Jrue Holiday (January - team at full strength)
16ppg
5rpg
9apg
48% shooting

Brian Roberts after Jrue's injury:
12ppg
2rpg
4apg
40% shooting

not including their defensive capabilities that roberts has absolutely none of. That is a big difference already

Jason Smith averaged 10/6; ~26mpg
Ajinca: 6/5 ~17mpg
Stiemsma: 3/4 ~18mpg

All 3 were horrible defensively, but Smith was at least competent compared to stiemsma. Ajinca had a ton of foul trouble

Ryan Anderson - the only other 3pt shooter on the team. Averaged 20/7 playing 36mpg

We couldn't even replace him with another viable big man.

Cast offs?

Eric Gordon was an up and coming SG before injuries derailed him the last few years. He played a good bit of games last year before he hung it up for the year.

Jrue Holiday was an 'all-star' caliber PG in the east and averaged a pretty good 14/8 in the games he played shooting 45/39/81. At the age of 24.

Tyreke Evans was ROY, only 24 years old, and in the only month where he got heavy minutes he averaged 20/6/5.

Ryan anderson is such a cast off that houston wanted him pretty badly last year before his injury.

Before you use a word like "castoff" maybe you should know what it means. A better example would be someone like Raymond Felton who's slow, old, and just letting himself go

@clutchfans
Source confirms the Rockets will receive the first round pick from Pelicans next year if it is between 4-19. That's huge.

I made a legitimate argument on help board for why this belongs on MSB

The playoffs in the West are extremely hard to predict right now. The Spurs, Thunder, and Clippers are all locks IMO, but the rest of it is a crap shoot.

Houston is a lock to me. Phoenix is all but a lock to me.

I agree. after this trade i'm fairly certain they will land someone. I just pray it's not LBJ

Your right. I completely forgot about them.

Ehh, we still don't know if Eric Bledsoe is going to be on the roster. There are just so many good teams in the West it is hard to say.

Honestly the Lakers or Minnesota feel like the worst teams in the conference right now, but who knows what they end up doing by the time we reach the season.

Denver and Utah.

Apparently not getting any sleep last night has seriously impaired by basketball thinking

I could see Denver being better though. They had a ton of injuries last year and seem to be trying to make a big move.

Utah is probably gonna suck.

Step 1

NOLA just got a solid C to pair with Davis in the frontcourt

I agree with you on Denver. They arguably took the most injuries out of the entire league last year.

Utah is gonna Utah... but I actually like the young core they have. Hayward, Burke, Burks, Favors, Kanter, etc.

And out of all the top teams in the West last year, Phoenix is the 1 that I think was playing above their head. They could most def be a playoff team next year, but I could also see them struggling.

Who knows though? Its too long of a season and too many things could go wrong and change everything. You know this as well as most RTR.... Grizz almost missed the playoffs due to injuries. Crazy things happen in the NBA.

It is why I am really hoping that LeBron stays in the east.

I don't get the hate for the pels getting Asik. He feels a huge hole in the pels lineup and will be awesome next to AD.

If Houston gets Lebron and/or Carmelo
