I just met a man at whole foods on magazine who won't be watching the SB. He doesn't watch football and has no interest. Didn't come across as a weirdo, initially, but I found his lack of knowledge about today a bit disconcerting.

Anyone else ignoring the "big game"?

EtA: i'll be watching. I just wondered if people were going to abstain.

Want to know something interesting? Not every person revolves their life around sports.

We get it. You want people to know you're a shitty poster.

I'm sure you'll just be on here starting more Putin/Russia threads somewhere.

I'm not really WATCHING it. I'll have it on but I'll be playing around on the internet, maybe playing a video game (the Witness), doing laundry, playing with my dog, making something to eat, etc. But with my DVR I can just rewind it to the beginning of the game if it's a great game.

I'm not as much a Football fan as I'm a fan of the Texans and Saints. If neither of them are playing I quickly lose interest. I don't care about the spectacle of it all. Same story with college football to me. I love my teams but don't care about the "league".

The NFL is pretty boring anyway. Considering the pacing of the average super bowl, I'd almost rather watch a WNBA game.

Possibly wouldn't have watched Pats/Panthers. I like Peyton and Wade Phillips so I will watch.

Last Denver Super Bowl, I quit watching at the pick-six. I had better things to do.

I don't watch any basketball championships at any level. I literally am incapable of caring any less about basketball. Same goes for baseball, soccer, track, hockey, gymnastics, ultimate frisbee, quidditch, tennis, badminton, bowling, lawn bowling, croquet, etc. Football is the only sport I care about and that will never change. Am I weird for not caring about those other sports? I couldn't even tell you a single team that won the NCAA basketball championship in the last 15 years or who has won a NBA title the last 5 years.

I know many young American men who are not interested in sports. I love sports, but not everyone shares that enthusiasm.

If you go by the numbers, he's actually in the majority, Last year, 114 million watched the Super Bowl. There are 319 million people in the United States. So over 200 million in the United States didn't watch the Super Bowl last year. A lot of people just don't watch live TV period.

I haven't watched the last 10 Super Bowls. I'm a college FB fan and I watch at least 6 games every Saturday. The NFL is boring.

How do they come by that number? How do they count house parties with 20 people? 114M is a ridiculous number of people anyway. Don't short sell that number.
