Tirico knows every tidbit about everything across multiple sports. I like his tennis coverage personally.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of him either. The only NFL announcers that I really like are Al Michaels and Brad Nessler. Jim Nantz is pretty good as well. The rest of the bunch is pretty meh.

Agreed. Tirico is very versatile. He can call multiple sports comfortably without seeming out of place.

I miss him calling the Thursday college games. He would make even La Tech vs Miami sound exciting. He doesnt seem to have that same passion on the mnf broadcasts.

I like Tirico.

That said, I'm glad ESPN, or Mike himself, scaled him back a couple of years ago.

yeah, all of those are the better ones out there.

I like Daryl Johnston and Mike Mayock's color commentary also.

one guy who got worse with age was Dan Dierdorf. I actually used to like him on Monday Night Football but thought he has been awful the last few years on CBS.

but I guess that is more of a nostalgic type of thing... seeing how I enjoyed ABC's coverage more back then.

ESPN's coverage is OKAY but it is watered down because of Monday Night Countdown and Sports Center.

Well, MNF actually felt like a really special event back in the day. It was hard not to be really excited and jacked up when your favorite team was playing on MNF because the entire nation was watching and the production values were off the charts. Same thing when Pat Summerall and John Madden was announcing a game featuring your favorite team. There just isn't the same feel to the nationally televised games anymore.

This seems kind of random, you do know that's not Tirico you're listening to on SNF right?

Maybe I missed it, but where in the OP is there a correlation between Tirico and SNF?

Absolutely.

but I will say that I like it when Gruden and Tirico do a bowl game. I think they did the Outback Bowl a few times and I enjoyed that.

Gruden can try too hard a lot of the time but his passion for the game is undeniable. Tirico has gotten a lot better I think.

he did a game several years ago when Louisville beat Florida State on Thursday Night Football. I thought it was obvious he was rooting for Louisville. It was bush league.
