I remember a few years back occasionally seeing him interviewed on various ESPN shows as well as reading some of his articles and thinking he was an obnoxious semi-racebaiter shock jock. Well I have been tuning into his new show SFY with Cowturd and have found myself pleasantly surprised and really liking where he stands and how he feels about much of the current state of sports and even politics. Could be an act but it seems authentic...never hear him making excuses for athletes nor blaming white people every damn day. I put up with cowherd so I can enjoy watching Whitlock.

Last I heard Whitlock was pretty widely considered an uncle Tom by a lot of the black community.

I know the first time he was at ESPN he was fired to calling out Scoop Jackson and saying, "the publishing of [Jackson's] fake ghetto posturing is an insult to black intelligence."

He's always been a great writer. If people would read and stop being so sensitive racially and politically, his writing makes good points.

Yes he's been outlandish, but he at least backs his opinion with fact. He was fired at ESPN for not being shocking enough and bad planning in their part.

And a race baiter by so many white folks.

He called Scoop a coon.
He just as political as Jemele Hill, LeBatard, and Bomani but for whatever crazy reason his brand of bringing politics into sports talk is more accepted on the Msb.

You're being downvoted, but I agree. I'm a conservative but if we complain about getting politics out of sports, Whitlock shouldn't get a pass. I like him and his viewpoints but it's hypocritical to criticize others and not Whitlock simply simply because he says things we agree with.

The fact that he offends the ignorants and the racists on both sides is a pretty good indicator that he's a straight shooter.

Not to say that I agree with everything he says but he usually seems to take the time to form an opinion rather than just spitting out a prejudged one.

If those people are racists, what do you call the black people who won't criticize black people?

Or the ones who get pissed at a black guy for criticizing a black guy?
