Apparently he’s the latest to be canceled for something he said about Saudi Arabia, but I can’t find the whole story that explains the context of that quote. Anybody know what the deal is?

A couple of the pros I saw interviewed seemed to be tired of him too…Pat Perez and Justin Thomas. I’ve always heard Phil is a jerk off.

He basically said the Saudis are horrible people with awful human rights abuses, but he wants to partner with them because it would be good for golf. I like Phil, he's survived some scandals before, but I'm not sure he'll get past this one.

Saudi Arabia is trying to make a dent in the PGA Tour and people are fauxing outrage about Phil's plans to do business/play in SA.

Basically the PGA's minions are trying to blow this deal up.

I think Phil is probably a douchebag but it's weird for him to be a public whipping boy for the Saudis

Between them being somewhat responsible for 911, their terrible human rights abuses, and their involvement in a viscous proxy war - are we really going to put all the emotional blame for that on FIGJAM?

Phils hatred of the Tour is odd

Its not like the NFL where owners are pocketing hundreds of millions, on the Tour most “profits” go to charity

One of his issues is that he doesn't think as much is going to charity as there should be, based on the value of the tour's on-book assets. They own many many billions of dollars of IP and barely distribute $200M each year.

I doubt ole Phil really gives a frick if he is canceled or not. He will just go down to the Country Club and gamble $1000 a hole

If he’s broke he must be one of the worst degenerate gamblers in history.

Which is possible

I wasn't intending to announce that as if it's breaking news, just adding that to the speculation of what's going on with him.

Meh Idk. I know three different people that have ran into Phil and all of them said he was a very nice guy and chatted for a few minutes.

Yes. Michael Breed was talking this morning and supposedly Phil recently had to sell his plane to pay off a gambling debt
