For what it's worth, I was born in New Hampshire and used to go to around 20 Red Sox games a year. We also went to the Garden a couple of times a year too.
My dad refused to take us to Foxboro, my dad thought it was a shithole and didn't want to expose us to drunk Patriots fans peeing in sinks.

Funniest part if that article was that one of the candidates for New England was Bears Offensive Coordinator Gary Crowton

"Coach, do you think it's wise to run another option to the weakside with Brady?"

He wasn't hated, but his style of coaching and interaction with the media also didn't play very well with said media. He very much is a west coast personality, and as you'd expect, it doesn't go over well in Boston.
So that explains why he is loved so much in Seattle . The players just seem to love him and want to play their asses of for him.

Julian Edleman and Shane "Sweetness" Vereen
I laughed watching this, they are making a best friend smoothie.

wasn't there a story about Carroll playing a pick up basketball game before a playoff game one year?
I think it was a personality thing that did him in. Pete is a happy go lucky type of guy. Boston people are some of the most miserable folks on this planet earth.

Pats fan since I listened on WHDH/(now WEEI) to the very first regular season AFC game ever played, and went to the Pats-Titans game for my 12th birthday in November of 1960 (the Titans had trained right here in NH) so that's 55 years now:
He didn't make playoffs in his 3rd season. Pats tied for last place in the AFC East in 1999.

He takes them to the playoffs all three years and gets fired after losing to the Jags?

Since '93
Pete's time there was just kinda strange. But as others have stated, I think he and Kraft didn't see eye to eye.

I didn't know of the bad blood between Parcells and Kraft until I read Parcells book.
Good shite. Gotta love the fact that all the players including LT made fun of Belichick his first year as DC but when they started shutting people out with his schemes, they started shutting up.

I wonder if any of them know who Steve Grogan, Sam "Bam" Cunningham, John Hannah or Stanley Morgan are.
I won't even bother with Gino Cappelletti.

I'm only 26 bud. I know who they are from my dad, but I grew up with Bledsoe, Terry Glenn, Big Ben Coates, Ty Law, Lawyor Milloy, Ted Washington, and such.
