He was under the influence and almost killed someone. That's what he meant by karma.

Okay. I didn't know that.

I thought he was referring to the act of taking the drugs themselves

He wasn't just an addict - he was a dealer. Stated so himself. He obviously didn't have to deal to make money as his family was doing quite well in 2007. He did it because it made him feel cool "in the hood" (again, his own words). Addiction is sad, but it is the dealers who are the source of addiction in the weak. One has to wonder how many lives were affected by his drug sales. My sympathy to his family.

Who is society doesn't know the hazard of taking the first pill. Most people understand addiction.
He has put his family and friends through so much grief, IMO, its time they got some relief.

Not sure if serious.

Its the cigarette company's fault people have lung cancer, i wonder how many lives are affected by their cigarette sales.

Prayers sent to the Reid family. Outliving your kid has to be extremely difficult to deal with, even if the kid was mixed up with the H.

I doubt they'd be saying these things if it were someone in their own family. Message boards bring out the worst in some people in these sorts of situations. People tend to be highly sanctimonious behind a keyboard.

Jesus tittyfricking Christ, am I reading that correctly?

In the absence of addiction, the dealer doesn't exist. This is not a chicken vs. egg problem. Addicts become addicts first, and dealers become dealers by realizing that a profit can be made by making available for purchase the things that the already-addicted addicts are already addicted to. The dealer is a capitalist. He responds to market demands.

Don't blame it on the dealer.

Someone else told me that the karma you were referring to was nearly killing somebody when driving under the influence.

If the karma you are referring is something other than that, then yes I ask in absolute seriousness.

Karma is something bad happening to you because you did something bad. Overdosing is something bad. What did Andy Reid's son do that resulted in karmic retribution?

Not bashing but I think its somewhat karma related that a drug dealer would die of an overdoes (if that's the case). Well maybe more ironic

Do not feel bad for the kid that died. Dude steadily killed himself with pill problems. If you steadily feed yourself poison, you're eventually going to die a bit sooner than you should.

Careful. I said something like this about a certain college football player and was banned. But group-think was also involved in my banishment.

Reid should take the season off. He's not going to be into football for a long while.

Chances are that he will continue with football because it will help him grieve. Just as Kragthorpe uses football as therapy for his illness, Reid will use football as therapy for the loss of his son.

Maybe. Dungy left to be with the family he had left after his son's suicide so who knows.
My parents grieved very differently after losing my brother and if anything I've learned that you can't predict the reaction or the impact on someone in cases like this.

A parent should never have to bury a child. I don't care if he's an addict or not. I'm sad for the family but also sad for the son who couldn't beat it. Not everyone can.
