Louis Vitton round robin going on in Bermuda. It looks like the Kiwis and Oracle are the best but it's still early. These boats fly literally across the water.

I don't get how they don't have hulls in water

I mean the Deed of Gift switched form the traditional to catamaran to this now

Yes, it's gotten real space age. Not nearly as majestic as Ted Turner or Dennis Conner knifing through the water.
I guess it's rich folks rather than sailers running it.

Good point. I think Oracle has a lot of cash.
It's weird seeing the Japan team with only one Asian on the boat.

Does anyone know why Oracle is competing in the LV cup? I thought as the defender they were automatically in the Ac competition against the winner of the LZ cup.........

What am I missing? Is this the Oracle "B" crew?

It's for practice. It would be unfair for the defender to have to go up cold against a crew that just won 8 races. Also they are racing the 45s not the 72s. When they get on the 72s they will be pushing 60mph. These boats are amazing

And today you get your answer. America gets an extra point to take to the Cup with them

This America's Cup is using the AC50s, not the 72s.

I still don't have a clue what's going on, but I watched a bunch of YouTube videos the other day on the 72s and the Hydrofoiling. Pretty interesting stuff, like turbo boosters for boats

Those AC72s were unbelievable vessels. Stunning displays of power, but very dangerous. Their top speed was also 50mph. Not 60.

The Swedes capsized one and killed a guy.

I doubt we'll ever see the 72s in competition again.

I can get my boat up to 7 maybe 8 knots, and that feels like we are really moving. Lol
