They would spread and run single back behind Joe Thomas. Bama has to respect the WRs because they just don't have the horses, and Bama does not have a defender that could currently give Joe Thomas any problems.

On offense, Jamie Collins weighs more than Hurts and is probably faster.

A multi-year NFL starting QB told me that the college to pro transition is about the same as going from 8th grade ball straight to Division 1. The spread is unreal.

Think about how many great college players LSU has had in the last 15 years. Not many of those became establish starters. Same for Bama. Studs in college are mostly just regular guys in the Pros. The non-studs from college -- guys that will never start or even play in the NFL-- have to play a whole game where every guy on the other side of the ball is essentially a more experienced version of the best player on their own team (that they don't match up very well against).

Right. The worst player on the worst NFL team was a standout player on his college team. There are routinely players who don't even make an NFL roster who were All-Conference type players. Thinking that a college team could even stand up to an NFL team, even the browns, is completely silly if you stop to think about it for more than a few seconds.

Who after a few years of development may with no guarantee be able to contribute and not necessarily star on an NFL team. I'm pretty sure the bust rate for first round picks is greater than 50%. Not going to look up the exact number. That means that even the supposed best of the best every year in college can't always hack it in the NFL.

This is just so absurd.

PS: It's not a guarantee they are top 5 picks.

because quarterback play???? Mccown or kevin Hogan or cody kessler is the qb play thats going to destroy the bama defense? Obviously the browns have supreme talent at every position vs bama but lets not act like mccown, kessler, or kevin hogan are going to destroy the bama D. Sadly it would not be 56-3 if they played. Hogan was mediocre as frick last year at stanford. Mccown is trash no matter where he plays, and kessler although good would never have destroyed bama in college.....last year

The NFL team would never have to even pass

Guys like Ndamukong Suh were throwing NFL guys around on day 1. Same for countless other players.

The guy who had one of the best rookie of seasons of all time, and there are countless others like him. No. Those guys are called Hall of Fame players.

Well, how many guys playing DL for Bama will be playing in the NFL after they leave college? Probably 8, 6 minimum.

How many 1st round picks? 2 or 3.

There is a reason nobody is running the ball on them.

Now to be sure most NFL teams could, but the Browns are one of the worst coached and least talented teams we've seen in the NFL for a long time.

This is akin to saying John Curtis or Hoover Alabama would beat Tulane. So silly! Sadly this will likely be all over Facebook.

Cleveland's offensive line is putrid, and Alabama's D-line could compete

This isn't even right. I agree Alabama's DL is beastly, their entire front 7 is beastly, but they aren't even close to NFL level right now.

Think about the guys they've been sending to the NFL. Last draft, Jarran Reed and A'SHawn Robinson were both top 50 picks at DT. Those dudes were beasts, similar to Bama's current DL.

They have like 30 combined tackles and less than a handful of sacks right now as rookies. They're playing sparingly. There is just such a huge learning curve when it comes to playing in the NFL. Experience is so important. Not to mention the caliber of athletes everywhere.

Think about all of the great SEC players over the years. Now think about how many of them were NFL busts. End of thread.

Please tell me how a college team that barely beat LSU 10-0 can hang with a professional football team

Think of it like basketball. 2011 Kentucky vs. 2015 Philadelphia 76ers.

Kentucky only had 6 players drafted:

Anthony Davis
Terrence Jones
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Marquis Teague
Doron Lamb
Darius Miller

Even if you fill out the rest of the roster with Kentucky's bench players, that 2011 Kentucky team can compete against the Philadelphia 76ers.

There is also the physical development. The difference between a 19 year old and a 25 year old who has been lifting weights and training as a full time job is not something to be overlooked. Just because a team has a bunch of players who will eventually play in the NFL that doesn't mean that those players are ready to play in the NFL right now. Not to mention the bunch of players who will never even cut it as a practice squad player which even Bama has a bunch of those on the team for depth.
