Tebow won in 2007 when they lost 4 games. Bradford won in 2008.

ETA: I would give a slight edge to Mariota right now considering the line issues Oregon has had. The guy makes it look easy sometimes.

Dak Prescott as of now. Media is giving him an advantage right now playing on #1 team. Just think State is over ranked.

USC was ranked #1 all year.

I didn't mean the team to win the title after the bowl games...but the top team in the land when the Heisman voting occurs.

Melvin Gordon is getting hosed. He has better stats at this point in the season then a lot of previous Heisman winning RBs.

QB's get the Heisman nowadays. The RB era was the seventies through the nineties.

Unless Miss St. runs the table, it's pretty obvious that Mariota is going to win.

While you're there discounting Coleman due to offense they run

Remember IU throws the ball a lot more than Wisconsin. IU is on a 4th string QB. You also completely dismiss that Coleman leads the B1G yds from scrimmage also.

So I think if people took time to look at Coleman and not that he is from IU he is better than Abdullah who is also better than Gordon.

I'm not discounting the offense Coleman runs. The guy plays who he plays for and he can't help that Kevin Wilson is running something that puts his team in the best position to win. That being said, running lanes are wider in the offense Indiana runs. Indiana's wide-open attack does not allow eight defenders to stack the box. In contrast to that, Gordon consistently runs against those fronts.

Indiana does not throw 'a lot more' than Wisconsin. It is true they throw more, but not to the extreme you seem to be alluding to. Indiana runs the ball 64.1% of the time; Wisconsin runs the ball 67.5% of the time.

There is no running back more talented than Gordon in the country outside of Gurley. None.

Abdullah is not better than Gordon, for that matter. His yardage totals are inflated due to him returning kicks. Coming into this past weekend, he had one more game than Gordon and Gordon was nipping at his heels in rushing totals. Abdullah's total yards on the season were inflated due to him returning kicks, something completely out of the control of Gordon.

Too bad about Abdullah's injury, though. Very good player.

Gordon is on Pace for over 2,100 yards, if you include Wisconsin's bowl game, and 30 TDs. Coleman is on pace for 1,950 yards and 17 TDs.

Melvin Gordon is currently the best running back in the country. He has accounted for an immense amount of yardage and has averaged 14.2 points/game on his own.

Connor Halliday from Wazzu is leading the nation in passing, fyi...FWIW.

He also plays in Leach's system.

You really need to let this go.

I hate that it is now based off the best teams. Wiavonsin's RB is wreaking shite.

Outside of the QB position (really just Mariota and Prescott) the most important player in the nation is Amari Cooper. Without Cooper Bama's offense would be in big trouble and they would likely have multiple loses already.

Going undefeated at Mississippi fricking state alone should be worthy of a Heisman

Slight edge to Marcus.

More passing yards, passing TDs, total yards (through the air and on the ground), and total TDs

Also has less turnovers, higher completion percentage, and a better QBR

Coleman is a beast. I went to the Michigan State and IU game a few weeks ago. The best in the country is subjective. Wisky does a job of beating up the defensive front for Gordon to run through. I like them both! Wish they were in the SEC. Both would get more hype!

Bovada has Mariota as the favorite.

quote:

Junior Marcus Mariota now carries 1-to-2 odds to win the Heisman Trophy, per Bovada, up from his 4-to-5 odds listed last week.

Next closest is Mississippi State's Dak Prescott, whose 4-to-1 odds fell despite the Bulldogs retaining their No. 1 AP ranking.

Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson and Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon are each 10-to-1.

Amari Cooper will win it if Bama wins out. Otherwise if MSU wins out, Dak wins it. Marshall won't win it because they are trying to go for more integrity this year.

Dak is the frontrunner if they keep winning. If Miss State drops one, then I think Mariota goes to the front.
