You are right, nothing forced him.

But, from almost all acounts, he was a good kid until 16, then his father died, and his mother started dating a cocaine dealear who abused her and Aaron......

Do you see how that could form him into a monster? And then, that good kid who was turned into a monster by horrific events in his youth, goes on to throw away a dream life for most people, to instead take the lives of others, and then the life of himself, could possibly be considered a tragedy?

I mean for gods sake this story is next to tragedy in the dictionary.

So you've killed someone?

Sympathy means you know what they are going through bc you have experienced the same.

Empathy means you are saddened by what they are going thru but you've never experienced it.

Tell me how your father died at 16, and your mothers coke head abusive boyfriend had no harmful outcome on your upbringing.

Tell me that isnt fricking tragic for a 16 year old

His story didn't end there. That part may be tragic, but the whole story is not.

His brother was in college, halfway across the country when this happened. Not a 16 year old still living at home.......

Well that excuses it then.

You realize you're now basically defending Hernandez turning into what he did, right? I have no doubt you'd sit here all day and try to get me to feel sorry for this POS. Not gonna happen. Feel free to have the last word, I'm out this thread.

No, I am not. He, in the end, had the opportunity to right the ship. And he didnt. I have no true empathy for his end result.

However, we dont have to be some fake hardcore redneck robot either(you arent normally like this, which is why this take is strange for you IMHO.)

I can still see that Hernandez had some very tragic events happen in his formative years, that he never recovered from, and I cant in my place understand what that is like.

Calling it a tragedy doesn't excuse Hernandez or lessen his responsibility in the choices he made. You can relax.

Everybody has the need to blame something?

Some people are just bad people. They make a decision in life from which they can't come back. Guy was stone cold evil. Or tried to be to compensate for something. Which makes more sense. Why do street level gangster shite when you are owed $40 million?

The "tragedy" of the story began long before anybody gave two shits who aaron Hernandez was. From the point we all knew of him he was a bastard.

Being gay makes sense. Also his final trail being over? Win or lose did not matter. They can't wait for you to die twice. Life in is life in. Maybe part of it was having nowhere to be anymore? No mor court dates. No more meeting with lawyers and court appearances which is probably like a vacation to an inmate. Like the line from Shawshank "nothing but all of the time in the world to think about it."

Maybe that got him. Time had come for him to just be warehoused for the rest of his life. Treated like a real inmate. No more courthouses and nice chairs and conference tables.

Was he in solitary because of his fame? Was he going to be moved?

This is pretty crazy. Seemed like a guy that wanted to live the prison life. Then got a taste of what it's really like and couldn't handle it

I don't believe you're just born a bad person. His life circumstances definitely played a big part in making him who he was. Ultimately he had plenty of choices to make something better of his life. He had opportunity after opportunity and failed to take advantage. That's on him.

His upbringing isn't his fault, what he did with his chances to escape his upbringing is his fault.

Hernandez became a mental case clearly.

And in America what do we do with mental cases? Say redneck things about how they are faking it or they should just "kill themselves"
