Good god that is a reach.
Why? It's a logical question considering the point I was responding to. It's not even close to a reach.

Did you read the post I quoted and his point about it not being a slur because it can be said on TV and in print? I'm thinking you didn't.

Hurricanes are quite the sensitive subject for many people. Might as well call the U while we're at it. On that note, my great uncle was killed by a rabid pack of wolverines. Better get Michigan on the horn. Which reminds me, the Tennessee volunteers' nickname is a reference to many a soldier who killed a shite load of Mexicans. Better axe that one too with the recent spike in Hispanic Americans.

How does a functioning adult not understand a slur from something that is not a slur?

Are most people on this board anti name change because they don't find the name offensive, or, they just don't want the government or NFL forcing a name change?

I, for one, am both

This is nothing more than political bullshite.

They are trying to strike a racial issue while the topic is hot so that they can pat themselves on the back and show how sensitive to minority causes they are by "urging" Dan Snyder to change the name.

If he changes it, they can talk about how they corrected an injustice. If he doesn't change it, they can talk about how they are continuing to fight for such an injustice.

It's a win-win.

It's just political bullshite.

What's funny is that Sen. Cantwell is at the forefront for this name change, yet is the head speaker at the may 30th Jefferson-Jackson Dinner and State Convention in Indiana.

Jackson is the President who moved forward with the Indian Removal Act, which basically kicked the Chicaksaw, Cherokee, Choctaw, Muscogee Creek, and Seminole tribes out of the east and forced them to move west where they eventually were forced out of again.

I think she just hates American Indians with the way she wants them out of everything

I'm Irish and find the Notre dame mascot to be a stereotype. Where's my justice huh? Where's my outrage?

Why don't the other owners just vote him out for being racist?

You wouldn't be laughing if you saw what those wolverines did to Ronnie.

ETA: Just to clarify, my point is that the whole thing is a slippery slope and before you know it people will be offended by any and everything. I line has to be drawn somewhere.

This is obviously a solely political move by the Dems, whether you agree with it or not. "Look, anyone but white people, we fight for your equal rights in this country and do not tolerate racism."
