STM didn't choke, they were really never in it. Poche dominated STM and Lutcher simply had the best player on the field
Even without the early STM errors Lutcher wins 1-0. No Shame in that

I just wanted to make sure we gave that Poche kid his due. He was outstanding, easily the best player on the field

Poche pitched about as good a game as you can pitch. I was impressed with the fact that he can throw any pitch in any count. He was throwing breaking balls in 3-1 and 2-0 counts.

He did the same thing against DeRidder. Best friends little brother is on DeRidder and said they couldn't touch him. Said there was no way to sit dead red because he didnt have a pattern, would throw any pitch in any count.

Great group of kids that worked extremely hard. This year they had exceptional talent to go along with the hard work and it paid off.

STM's pitcher who came in for the last 3 innings gave up no hits, and shut down the Lutcher hitters. He 's a lefty like Poche, and only a sophomore. It would have been a much closer game possibly, had he started. ( according to everything we've seen him do this year. ) STM had to bring him in for the final inning vs. teurlings the night before. They underestimated how well POche would shut down their offense. Oh well hindsight is great ain't it.?
