You're comparing apples and oranges. The Bulls that lost to the Celtics in the 80s were not the same teams that won in the 90s.

It's not about everyone winning. You're missing the point. It's about being competitive. It's about not being able leave 80% of the league out the discussion for a title at the beginning of the season.

So the 80's were diluted according to your logic.

Just take a look at this. The graphs will speak for themselves.

Is this current Celtic squad (08-11) better than the Bird/Parrish teams?

It's not that bad of a question in terms of who would win on the court. The athleticism and strengh is higher now. The current Celtics would beat the Celtics of the '80s IMO. But a comparison by the numbers, or comparing their success in their own eras isn't too much of a contest. '80s Celtics > Today's Celtics in that aspect.

Name me the top 50 players from 1986. Then name me the top 50 players from this year and compare side by side.

I agree with this. And these Celtics aren't the best group ever

I'm glad some people are open-minded (Bayou, bomber, and cosmo).

Now I'm not saying 2011 C's > 84/86 C's necessarily, but it can at least be discussed. People who respond with only a " " obviously bring very little to the table and are probably basing their baseless opinion off of nostalgia only. Comparing these teams on the court (not in the trophy room) would be very close IMO

Do you think Bird could guard PP or stop him from scoring?

Give me those 80s Celtics > this version, especially that '85-'86 team.
