eh...if they play cupcakes like they used to

LMAO the Big 12 was widely considered the best conference back then.

Also ANY offense can work if you have great players

Watching these highlights made me realize Crouch was definitely deserving of the Heisman in '01.

Rex Grossman.

It was the Big 8 but yeah, they were a pretty damn good conference. In 1995, the year Nebraska blew the crap out of everyone, they played four teams that finished in the Top 10: Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, and Florida.

They beat Kansas, 41-3
They beat Kansas State, 49-25
They beat Colorado, 44-21
They beat Florida, 62-24

In short, half the teams from the Big 8 (Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, and Nebraska) finished in the Top 10 in 1995.

The Big 12 started in 98 and it was widely considered the best conference until around 04 when OU got beat by USC

Georgia southern says HAI

Yeah. I'm sure Bama brought their A game for Georgia Southern

Option offenses usually get their yards on the ground. But they rarely get much in the air and the teams simply can't come from behind.

The only reason it "worked" with Nebraska is that they had a dominant defense to go along with it. They never had to worry about a team jumping out to a 17-0 first quarter lead if the offense started cold.

As good as those Nebraska offenses were, with even an above average as opposed to great defense, they start dropping a few games a year.
