Yeah but their offense will look great against Big 12 teams. Kansas State will probably beat them too though. I could see TCU losing 2-5 games. Just depending on if Texas is still gonna be shite and whether WVU will be good or not.

This.

Yeah, TCU was sloppy, particularly in the middle of each half, but they opened the season on a Thursday night at what could be a pretty good Minnesota team. Yet, at what point did TCU ever really look like blowing it? Overall, they looked in control to me.

Unless Minnesota completely sucks the rest of the season, winning this game ugly could serve TCU better than a blowout in the long-run.

This.
Everybody knows LSU is the only team not allowed to win its season openers in any fashion other than perfect blowouts!

I know nothing about the Gophers, but I think TCU is very overrated this year. I wouldn't be surprised if this game is a dogfight until final minute.

Good insight.

People are getting way too hung up on the small picture of last night. Have people already forgot how awful Ohio State looked against VT last year in week 2? Teams will dramatically improve over the season. Although I do think TCU's defense is going to be their downfall at some point this season.

Not many teams have improved over the course of a season as much as Ohio State did last year.

True, but it's still possible. It's just dumb to say TCU isn't a legitimate contender based on last night.

Baylor is going to murder that defense.

You just contradicted yourself. Wouldn't it be fair to say that "it's too early to know if TCU'S defense will be weak" because if you're suggesting that they have no defense then they aren't a contender

Agreed. I still think the list is small and Auburn did not have to deal with going to the 3rd string at QB.

TCU will score more points this year, especially against those retard defenses in their conference...but they are overrated.

So is their qb.

I did not watch much of this game but if Bama wins big over a better Wisky team compared to Minn. then we may move to 2. TCU was at home and did not look good

I made a bold prediction yesterday to a friend that Bama would win by 30 probably

And nah, that game was at Minny

I agree in the grand scheme of things, but TCU was not breaking in a freshman QB and a new OL.

That being said, I'm personally not drawing any conclusions from last night's game.

TCU is still a team that finished with the nation's second-highest scoring offense a season ago and returned 10 players from that same offense.

They'll find their groove eventually.

Trevone Boykin is a kid, for as talented and strong-armed as he is, can be inaccurate at times. His career completion percentage is under 60%.
