why not?

what theoretically prevents a perfect pitcher from getting every batter out at the plate?

You mean by striking every single hitter out?

That is about as laughable as me saying that Flacco can completely control the offensive side of the ball by just running it every single play and still being able to win games. Dude, at least be somewhere realistic with you argument.

That would be people using wins/losses to determine how good a player is.

No they can't. Even the best sinker ball pitchers in the game are going to give up fly balls. No pitcher can ensure that no groundballs will hit during a game. This is so wrong.
Every time a starting pitcher takes the field they have an opportunity to not allow a single ground ball or fly ball, which means that they could shut the other team out even if the defenders behind him were pure shite. If a QB has a shitty line, receivers, and rbs, he won't be able to have success no matter how awesome he is.

You aren't even making a logical argument. This shite is retarded. You are telling me that a starting pitcher can strike every hitter they face out? Tell me exactly how many times that has happened in baseball history...I'll sit here and wait. A pitcher needs his defense. You are completely 100% wrong and you can't even debate it.

It's gonna tick me off when the Ravens overpay for Flacco, but they kind of have to. Quarterback is the one position you can't afford to go cheap on. The modern NFL virtually requires a top ten QB. Flacco is probably right on that line of top ten, but if he walks, what do the Ravens replaced him with? Tyrod Taylor?

Or draft one of the crappy QB's in this year's class? The Ravens options are pretty crappy, but they really have to pay Flacco because they can't afford to lose him as they have no other option.

But, yeah. His postseasons were pretty awesome.

If this is your best argument, then you aren't very smart. At least you have proven that you know absolutely nothing about baseball as well.

Good debate, sir.

i was curious what your thoughts would be

it pissed me off when the saints paid drew 1/6 of our cap, and that's fricking drew brees

draft another flacco. it worked the past few years

you could get a caretaker for a year or 2 until a good guy emerges. i think realstically, losing lewis/redd means your SB chances are extremely low next year

for the record, i hope nobody is arguing against this

It's a hypothetical, dumb arse. It is possible for a starting pitcher to do that. Can you understand that?

Edit: Maybe hypothetical is the wrong word. Lets just say that it's theoretically possible for a starting pitcher to not allow a single fly ball or ground ball.

Please, oh wise one, tell me how a QB has more impact on a team winning or losing than a Starting Pitcher does.

i don't even think you comprehend the actual argument and you're just relying on what your pappy and peter king say

explain to me again how a pitcher is restricted from preventing any balls to get in play

I didn't say that a QB has more control you stupid dickhole. I said they have about the same control over a game as a pitcher does. You can say it is possible all you want for a pitcher to strike every hitter out during a game. Keep telling yourself that. Dumbass.

Ok well Joe Flacco can audible out of every play and call a QB draw and house it every single time. That can happen. It really could. Tell me how it couldn't? What is stopping him from doing so?

They could have a crappy umpire behind home plate that isn't calling a good stike zone. As such a pitcher could be unhittable one day, but the umpire keeps calling balls and the pitchers end up walking too many hitters and has to come out of the game because he has thrown too many pitches. SWIDT?

Trent Dilfer just said that late hit on Flacco would be called 1,000 times out of 1,000 in the regular season.

Omg ravens got screwed!!
