You need to look up the definition of 'stock.'

People understand that a stock split doesn't actually add value right? Maybe somehow makes it more liquid, but I don't think it adds to your position

You don't think going from 300 shares to 600 on a stock that was trading in the 100s is a big deal?

Take your own advice and learn something.

Anytime I've held a stock that split it added value especially when and If it decides to pay dividends.

It gives the stock a little bump pretty often, but not enough to go wild about. People loves them some stock splits, though.

Wasn't Coke the only major stock that split this year?

DDD - Buddy of mine sent me a text about 3d printing about a year ago. I thought, "shite, I'll buy stock in that." Good decision.

Stock splits typically are a good thing, but strictly speaking they do not add value chief. $$ figures on dividends are nominal as well. Look at the div yield instead. Additionally, companies don't decide they'll pay xx$ per share in div. they decide they'll pay lump sum of money to all shareholders and whatever that turns out to mathematically in div/share is what it is. So if you think about it, the split itself doesn't affect the $$ in your pocket at all.

I love splits as well, don't get me wrong, they typically indicate they things are going well and will continue to. But they don't mean an increase in value.

I don't understand where I said it increased value? I said it added value because stocks that split are making big fricking money.

I can't believe I'm getting beat up in this thread over posting my stock and being excited cause it split.
