Looking to make a quick buck on the side in stocks any help would be appreciated

Clearly I worded this wrong I was just wanting some tips on how to not get duped and understanding the market. When I say quick buck I mean a couple hundred a month or less even. I'm in college and currently don't have a side job and looking for a way to get beer money basically

Short apple today. If you put in $30,000 you will make over $500,000. I read it on the internet.

Day trading. Start with $2 Million, you'll be a millionaire in no time.

Don't you just love new investors who want to get rich quick and easy? I wish I owned a penny stock brokerage

Educate yourself on how to valuate companies (intrinsic value, comparative value). You need to learn how to walk before you can run. After you educate yourself on the basics, come back with a better question than "how do I make a quick buck off the stock market?"

You've come to the wrong neighborhood, hoglover. Turn back before the Vanguard horde consumes you!

But for real, you'll have about the same luck of turning into a professional athlete overnight as you will making quick money in the stock market somewhat consistently right now. You obviously don't know too much about the market, so how can you beat the professionals and more experienced?

find a mentor and learn as much as you can. Paper money is a very different game than trading real money

So is this money you can afford to lose? Because if not, stay out of the market until you're in a better place financially.

You would have better luck taking what ever money you have and playing black jack or betting college basketball, if you are just looking for some spending money. I mean that. Real answer would be to find a job to make some spending money. Not trying to be an arse either.

You're not in any position to be making short term plays in the stock market. Focus on doing well in college, setting yourself up for a job/career after college, and find another job for your "spending mkney." If you want to get into trading, use whatever free time you have leftover to learn about it so that when you do graduate and get a decent paying job you will be in a position to use discretionary money to make some plays.

Play around with RobinHood. It doesn't get any cheaper or easier. Look up the app and starting trading stock. You'll learn some quick lessons.
