What do y'all think? At a low right now of $29

I don't see them going anywhere. I could see it back above $40 by end of year.

Seems to me that a lot of people are over using Twitter. I like using it for weather and other news. Seems like peoples opinions of these things inevitably change and change quickly. That's why I avoid social media/app stocks.

They do own periscope...so who knows. That platform does seem promising.

As a consumer and not an investor -

I'd say it's dead. Most of the celebrities and such that I followed on Twitter have switched to Instagram. Twitter has become more of a tool for young poor minorities to voice their opinion on things.

I also wonder how viable Twitter is as its userbase grows older. 140 characters or less is great for high schoolers to make a funny quip to their friends or for someone to voice their immediate emotion on something. Even the dumbest folks will want to write a few sentences about a subject.

So which is it, in your opinion: it's "not going anywhere" or it's going to increase by almost 40% in 5 months?

That's alright, I feel like a stupid shite all the time. I'm happy to learn that you are human.

I feel like that for closing out my short position in the mid 30's a couple of weeks ago. I made out well enough, but I could have cleaned up on this dog. And even on Monday of this week (and Tuesday and today) I could/should have opened another short position. But the technicals said it was oversold, so I didn't pull the trigger. The question now seems to be, "how low can it go?"

This thread is so eerily similar to a Facebook thread a few years ago it is scary. Might be buy time!

And the thread I mentioned was FB around 15-30 and everyone throwing dirt on their grave.

Except that Facebook didn't have the management and personnel issues that Twitter does. And I don't think FB ever had the challenges with monthly active users that Twitter has been experiencing lately. It could snap back. Or it could go the way of Zynga. Hard to say. My guess is, it keeps stumbling along and someone will acquire it.

Personally, I see Twitter as a good beta tradeable based off technical signals, long or short. It's been good for that. You just have to get the direction right.

Kids have moved on to snapchat. Twitter is done as far as share price goes, maybe google will buy them but who knows.

Down another 2% at the low of the day. Clearly, I am my own worst enemy!

And I could see it at $20 before the end of the year.

The biggest thing about Twitter is that they can't seem to grow their user base. This does not surprise me. It seems as though every day I see a story about some poor guy who got fired from his job because he tweeted something to which the PC social media whackjobs took offense. In a more general way, people feel like they are getting stalked or that their posts are being stored by the NSA. At least Facebook has exclusivity, so only approved people even see what you post.

It also doesn't help that their company principals have admitted that their model sucks and have vowed that it will continue to suck for the foreseeable future.

I've always thought that Twitter's user base, though static, was at least a captive audience that could be exploited through clever marketing and advertising innovations, but now I'm not so sure. If celebrities feel that they aren't getting effective PR from using it, they will jump ship, and if/when that happens, millions will follow.

Yes, Twitter absolutely doesn't have anything like this.

This isn't the problem. The problem is that idiots get online and say the stupidest shite. Things that they would have sense to never say in public, at their jobs, or in front of real people, ever. But they get behind a keyboard and lose all self-control.

They don't seem very protected, especially with all of the stories of people getting run through because someone they don't know saw them tweet something. Anyway, celebrities who use it for PR don't want exclusivity, and if they quit, the "everyone has access to everyone" house of cards falls down.

Either way, they have admitted that they don't know how to expand their base. If you own it, good luck.

Exceedingly difficult to create an ad on TWTR vs. Facebook. That can't help revs.
