Currently have progressive and here are the coverages for '12 Camry:

Liability 50k, 100k, 50k
Uninsured motorist: 50k, 100k
medicals: 2k/person
comprehensive: 1K deduc
collsion: 1k deduc
rental reim: $30/day

They are asking $940 for 6 months. Seems kind of high since I don't have a claim in over 10 years.

What kind of rates are you guys getting and who is your insurer?

That seems really high. I have an 08 Acura and 01 Yukon with 50/100/50. I do not have uninsured motorist. 500 collision deductible, 100 comprehensive. I pay right at $700 for 6 months with Geico for both vehicles.

auto market blows in this state.

Shop your Geico,Allstate, State Farm, Safeco, National General (company blows) and go about your life.

that's a great deal. But being in Tx helps. I'm not sure what about LA that makes auto insurance higher. Is it more car stealing or bad drivers?

our less than favorable litigious environment.

Yeah. TX is different ball game than LA for sure. Also, our driving history is completely clean (knock on wood), and we did the snapshot discount which saved us 17% on one car and 30% on the other car.

People rag on Progressive for sure, but we have had great customer service and the prices are great for us. We've never had to make a claim (and hopefully never will) but we'll see how it is if/when that happens.

Just switched from statefarm to safeco. I had 50k/100k with statefarm. I have 100k/300k with safeco. For 1 year with statefarm I was paying $3100 for me and my wife. With safeco I'm paying $1700 per year. Neither of us have a accident in the last 5 years. I was with statefarm for 12 years but when I saw my premiums were nearly cut in half and my insurance coverage more than doubled I had to make the switch.

I filled out a quote form on usaa only to be told I wasn't qualified at the end when it asked about military at the end.

Why didn't they ask about that at the beginning. Waste of time and now they got my info.

I have Safeco as well. I am very impressed by their premiums and they are very helpful when filing a claim.

Pretty close to my coverage limits on two vehicles. I pay about $840 every six months with GEICO for both vehicles but I live in Florida.
