I recently read Getting to Yes and it was interesting but not as helpful as I'd like. The recommendations the book makes aren't very helpful for most of the negotiations that I deal with on a daily basis.
Does anyone have any other recommendations.

Never Split the Difference. I just finished it and you could take pages of notes out of that book.

Another vote for Split the difference. This book is on scribd.com if you use it.

Negotiation Genius was good. I read it while we were in the midst of a complex negotiation, and the book had interesting points that gave me ideas on some items in the deal structure.

The Art of the Deal by President Donald J. Trump. It will increase your negotiating skills bigly.

Secrets of Power Negotiating by Roger Dawson.
I had the audio course. Wonderful information on different gambits, how to use and how to deflect.
Highly recommend!

Thanks. I've added those to my reading list. I've read The Art of the Deal. It was less an instruction manual on how to negotiate, but 200 pages of Donald Trump stroking his own ego.
I just work in a business where generally the negotiation is over the value, and there aren't any real creative ways to structure deals. It is what Getting to Yes calls positional negotiating. And there is no way to transform it to principled negotiation.

Negotiate to Win by Jim Thomas
This guy taught a class at LSU Banking School that was very helpful. Talks about how Americans use persuasion, not negotiation. Stresses doing homework beforehand, and sticking to that plan.

I agree that Getting To Yes was interesting. The Art of Negotiating the Best Deal (Seth Freeman) is very good.
