HC will most likely be my 'focus area', so while I don't have huge experience there yet I will have more in the near future.

It also depends on what you consider "HC"...does insurance and phama count in that blanket as well?

LSUtoOmaha is the real point person at this point in time; he works for a healthcare firm doing some form of internal consulting work.

I'm an Accounting Junior at LSU now, debating on whether or not I should give Auditing a shot. If it means potential internship and job opportunities/gives an extra edge on my resume when I apply for jobs before graduation, then I'm going to try out the first class and see if I like it.

I'd like to know some of yall's opinions too.

I'd recommend that every single ACCT student at LSU should go through the program if they have a desire to compete for the top ACCT related jobs. I did it is a FIN major and can't imagine why anyone in ACCT wouldn't.

It's a different story if you're FIN/ECON or any other BUS major. If I had to do it over again I would have gotten serious my Soph year and either done LSUCIA then instead of Jr year or given something else a shot as a Soph. By waiting to gain work experience after my Jr year through LSUCIA, I pigeon-holed myself into Internal Auditing. I was very marketable for IA, but felt pressure to accept a job thrown my way because I wasn't experienced or marketable elsewhere.

Auditing work blows for the most part too fwiw. I'm already arranging an exit strategy, but that's not to say my current IA job won't help me reach what I'd like to get into. Still too early to tell on that one...

acgeaux, give me a call sometime and we'll chat about this.

If you dont see yourself doing this type of work in the long run, I would say go for a route that would better aim you at your long term goals. The program was great but is not a necessity.

I finished the program, and I don't think you'd have troubles with it. I'd actually say yes take it early that way when you get in more advanced classes it isn't going to be in your way.
