Sounds like someone who is in over their head and will be broke soon.

Hopefully he has made his money and knows how to manage the risk. However the statements in the article makes me think he will be in trouble.

Update, maybe I am not being fair and the article is just poorly written. Still being a "day trader" on the forex markets is very risky and generally a great way to lose money, hopefully he understands the risk of trading on margin

“I’m trying to make Forex big in the United States, because if people even knew how possible these 100 percent returns are, man, people just don’t see that. They don’t see that because they have their money in 401ks, savings accounts, but people will understand these kind of markets sooner or later,” Neal said.

This is great.

Sure, it's possible to make 100% returns if you bet the farm over and over and the market gods smile on you. God help you when they start to frown though.

I personally know a guy who was betting long naked call options back when the market was generally going up. He had days (DAYS) when he was up 30-40 percent. And of course some when he was down 10-20. His only comment was that he could take the down days because the ups were so big.

Of course the up days didn't continue forever. He wound up paying an enormous short term capital gains tax bill *and* lost all the capital gains and then some.

I played craps for a time and was always sad to talk to people who swore they knew the secret to winning.

One particular dumbass tried to give me lessons on setting dice and throwing techniques.

Are we sure this is real?

he's obviously using absurd leverage I remember tinkering around with 50:1 leverage on oanda in like 2007. It was fun bc it was open all night long and a blast to kill time. I made alot, I lost alot, and learned 50:1 leverage on currency trading will be you in the arse. Lewis hasnt learned this yet, no way hes making 100% on any trade without serious leverage involved

Watched a show once where some engineers got together and built a craps table and perfected the arm mechanics to go on long rolls. They would have to find a casino that had a table the same length and same relative bounce as their table but it supposedly worked until they started getting cocky and rolling 3 or 4 12s in a row and parlaying.

If I was a star player, I would sell something on commission. I read an article a while back about a RB from North Carolina who sold something like Cutco knives and led the nation in sales.

Imagine if fournette came to your door selling something. I know I would buy it.

I wrote the same thing on the rant, he might as well play video poker. That article makes him seem naive.

It sounds like he found some good mentors and/or a good forex trading community, and he's gotten strategies and a bit of understanding from them. That P/L sheet seems to show good position management: close out bad positions quickly and let successful ones ride. The article doesn't imply or state he has created any specific strategies, but it does imply he doesn't fully comprehend (forex) trading. For example, if everyone knew how to make good money trading forex like he wants people to know, then the strategies he uses would likely stop working. A good strategy often becomes less effective as more people use it - the opportunities dry up. Alternatively, technical analysis arguably works because enough people believe the accuracy of its predictions.

With all that said, I'll play devil's advocate and say that he could do fine trading forex, assuming the strategies continue to work. Otherwise, the leverage will eat him alive.

Systemic problem in Southern college athletics. He refuses to release his tax returns. Laffer curve says he isn't making any money trading forex. But LSU football soon to be made great again.
