ok the update for today is that she told my wife that the money should take another 1-2 business day to go through and she will have it by thursday.

of course we heard this last week. Im not kidding when i say that she has spent the last 2 days looking at new build custom home communities and she said she told her realtor to only look at homes over 500k. yesterday she said she found a builder she liked and even picked out a lot. she told her realtor to tell the builder to reserve the lot and she will have the down payment by the end of the week.

im telling you guys, i cant make this stuff up. she is in deep on this and the bait is fully lodged in her mouth. We have given her our honest opinion but she is 100% sure this is going down.

obviously she does not understand what she is doing... however i would think most realtors or builders would want to see some type of financial proof. especially in custom subs.
let me guess, thursday something is going to pop up and now it will be next Monday before she gets the money. have you been able to find out what yahoo she is dealing w/ at the bank. i would harp on her until i found out this info. i would also make sure she isn't paying someone to handle this matter or expedite the "transfer of funds"

This bitch probably is of the persuasion that 10M equals living rock star rich for the rest of her life while blowing money whenever she wants and it will never run out.

Ok, some math for you.

Take it for what it's worth because I am not goo with math, but after researching a little bit, the "Swiss" Dinar, which was circulating pre-Gulf War, is (per the U.N.) worth approximately 150 times what the Saddam Dinar is. (It was called the Swiss Dinar because the plates used to print it were made in Switzerland.)

The currency converter I used (either XE or OANDA, can't remember) puts the Iraqi Dinar, which is currently in the process of being replaced, at $0.00084 U.S. Multiply that by 150, and you get about $.126 U.S. Twelve and a half cents.

For her and her husband to accrue $10M U.S., he would have had to have brought home in the neighborhood of 79,365,079 Swiss Dinars.

As far as I could find, the Swiss Dinar only circulated in the form of a 25 Dinar bill. I could definitely be wrong on that. That is my disclaimer to the statement I am about to make...

3,174,603 Swiss Dinar bills is about how many bills her husband would have had to have brought back to get to the monetary range she is thinking she will receive. I am highly doubtful that this is actually what is going down.

Also, the Wells-Fargo currency converter itself does not even have a listing for Dinar (Iraqi or Swiss) that I saw.

Someone please fact-check me, but I am confident that this is at least fairly close.

And now, to scold myself for wasting time putting this together for no fricking reason whatsoever.

dallastiger55, Iraqi Dinars are a viable investment, and your friend is making life changing choices. Many people on this board have something called "middle class syndrome" and cannot stand to see others obtain wealth from investments which are not mainstream.

I can answer any questions that you have about Iraqi Dinar. My email address is FinanceDude69@edwardjones.com. Thank you.

What your friend has is worthless.

Wrong. It may not ever change in value. The currency of Iraq may stay way below that of their neighbors, without regard to the wealth Iraq holds. But, even then the currency has a value and is bought and sold every day.
