I have 100k UR points through chase. Me and the Mrs. want to take a trip somewhere in the summertime.

What kind of trip would I be able to get with this amount of points? I really have no idea how the points are valued, so I don't really know what destinations are in and out of the range of the points I have.

You will probably be able to get your flights taken care of if staying domestic.

Chase Saphhire? With mine you essentially get 20% extra towards flights booked through UR, so that's $1,200 right there. Should be plenty to cover tickets to a nice destination.

If you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, I believe you can transfer to a few different airline/hotel programs. I transferred some points to southwest one time and came out ahead by an extra $100 of what the points were worth through UR.

What other carrier would be beneficial to book outside the portal and why? Honest question.

Do not use the portal.

Southwest and Hyatt usually give you most value. You could find a fly SW to the Caribbean and stay at a Hyatt resort By transferring your points then.
