Home Warranty Program

I'm a first time homeowner that closed on a new condo mid-December. 3 days after closing the circuit breaker for the master bed/bath flipped and would not reset. I called an electrician and apparently there is some funky wiring going on (old school vs new school in the same circuit).
No problem though, because I have a home warranty that covers this type of thing - WRONG!
I've been fighting with the home warranty company for over a month about whether they will cover some re-wiring that needs to be done. Their reasoning for denying my claim is the electrician found a code violation somewhere and they don't cover code violation corrections. Now this code violation has NOTHING to do with the old wiring that is causing this issue but they continue to deny my claim.
Does anyone have any experience fighting a home warranty company? The contract does say that they do not correct code violations but that isn't the reason that I have no power. I have a hard fault in an old line that needs to be replaced. Just so happens that one of the junction boxes in the line is "too small and has too many wires running into it".
HELP!

I hate home warranties. How much is he quoting you to fix the issue?

OH and just a thought. This seems less money and more dealing with b.s. insurance companies. Maybe the OT?

Good luck. I've heard many stories like this about how worthless inspectors and home warranties really are.

I had a home warranty for a few years. First, I would never recommend using their approved companies they send out unless the warranty companies is paying. Most of them were absolutely terrible (I really can't stress that enough). All my issues were with an air conditioner. The warranty company ended up replacing the outside unit, but the install was done incorrectly and it lasted a year. My other unit was going out as well. In the end, I was so tired of fighting with them that I just cashed out (about $1,800) for what they told me the repairs were going to cost them. I took that money and paid an AC company of my choosing. Of course it was WAY more than $1,800 but I had no desire to have the warranty companies' preferred technicians on my property again.
In the end, it was a was for me since the first year was paid by previous owner and the $1,800 cash out covered a couple years of my premiums.

Have one but have yet to test its claims of service and coverage

My wife placed a couple of different Home Warranty options on my desk about 6 months ago. I have yet to give them any consideration or time.
So is the overall consensus that they are worthless? Guessing A/C would be the most costly and the only thing that I wouldn't be thrilled paying OOP.

I just finished up a claim on my AC with first American home warranty company. I'll never use a home warranty again, they are a scam.
The AC wasn't working, so I had a guy come out and said the evaporator coil was leaking, no freon left in unit, bone dry. I remembered we inherited the home warranty when we bought the house from sellers, so I filed a claim with them. They sent out a contractor who did a leak find and confirmed evaporator coil was leaking and needed a new one. He orders parts.
About a week later I get a call from a third contractor saying the warranty company wanted a second opinion. He comes by while I'm at work and wife is home, spends about 15 mins total at house, says he can't find leak and just put freon in AC and leaves. It sucks knowing it's not fixed and could go out again at any moment and I'll be on the hook, warranty runs out in 3 months.

I've used my home warranty program about 7 times so far probably has saved me about $1200. My samsung washer went out and they send Sears Who fixed it and said they would have charged $450 and all I had was a $75 call fee.
