XOM is nearly twice the size of CVX...why would CVX be the one buying XOM?

I just feel it makes sense for some consalidation in this space.

Yea that one aint happening, BP will be scooped up if any one is. Not till after everything plays out with the spill shite first though. Talk is if they get hit with full penalties they may restructure the whole thing, shut down BPXP.

There are hundreds of other companies CVX or XOM would go for/merge with before each other

I work for CVX and not a chance in hell. How could CVX afford it especially in this time frame. CVX has already picked up some of BP's fields and will most likely buy a company or two but XOM, not a chance.

XOM and CVX?? That is beyond impossible. The only giant with a chance of falling would be BP.
Citgo is getting bought out however. That's not a small acquisition.
