What's your airport? Where in Jamaica?
quote:

I think some options would be Southwest (50k offers only)

You could aim for the companion pass by applying for the biz and personal card if you could meet the $2k min spend per card quickly in January.

Citi AA platinum card is 50k points and that would get your roundtrip for 2.

50k offer info
Chase offers 4 Southwest cards.
2 Plus(personal & biz)$69
2 Premier(personal & biz)$99

The SW Plus cards need to be sent by a SW plus cardholder for the 50k point offer.

The Premier cards still hold the 50k point offer.

If you can reach 110k points in a given year(2 signup bonuses + 6k points), you can have a companion fly free on award tickets for that year and the following.

Easily one of the best domestic travel values out there considering they also fly to several Caribbean/Mexico locations. That is if you don't mind the cattle herding process that SW puts you through.

Rates don't matter if you're using miles. What provides the best flights? Then you need to look at their mileage programs and see if awards flights are available on the days you want to fly on most airlines.

I've used it on occasion when travelling with more than my wife, but you still get herded in to your A27 group.

I also think as an aggregate that SW has the most clueless flyers in the airport.

- A28 is peeping over the shoulder of what he assumes is A27 so he can see if he's in the correct spot.
- A28 learns that who he thought was A27, is in fact A29, so he tells A29 that he is in the wrong spot.
- A29 apologizes profusely and they play luggage hockey so that A28 can be in his rightfully deserved position.
- This begins a chain reaction from the entire herd checking to see if they are in the right spot. Shuffling commences among the herd until everybody feels like they are now ready to board only to learn that the catering crew forgot the peanuts.
- For the next 5 minutes you are now free to stare at the lady dressed in her most comfortable pink velvet pajamas, on her way to see Gunther, and eagerly awaiting their $199 Carnival Cruise as she explains to everybody that she just goes for the food...shocks everybody.

that is totally it

I do pay for EB every time though. Being on the plane after A group looks and is miserable.

I won't lie either, I definitely take a gander at people's passes. I have gone to using the mobile phone pass lately, and I bet that really perturbs people trying to see my number.

I said that last time I flew SW and I haven't booked another flight since with them. I will likely next time too though.

I can tell you from first hand experience, I want to know your number . I'm not moving or saying anything. Just curious.

And an update about signing up for a fan duel account and paying with a CC does not work in LA. We are one of a handful of stated that our laws won't allow us to participate in the fantasy gambling sites.
In other words, I was going to send a few grand to fan duel and just close the account and get the cash back in my bank account to help meet some min spend. That's a no go in LA unfortunately.

Just signed my wife up for Amex business platinum, Ink Plus and United Explorer 55k offer. Half a million points/miles generated between the two of us in the last month. Not a bad round.

Nice haul.

I generally do 3-4 cards per 6 months per person. Having your spouse participate definitely helps. And when I say helps, I mean gives the approval for signing her up.

I learned early that the KISS philosophy is the way to go here. Mine just uses 1 or cards per year.

Try Winn Dixie. Works for me here. 20 to 500 variable giftcard with $5.95 fee.

Now that I have that and a Kate that actually works, these signup spend requirements are even easier. Think I'll use my Arrival there a bit to get my auto 40% off.

I'm moving to this in 2015 for her. Just use the Starwood (outside of Freedom 5X). Will make it easier on me to keep up with as well, that's for sure.

Stopped by one the other day. Didn't see $500 denominations, but it was a quick scan.

I'll be out and about on the town tomorrow doing a little FML Christmas shopping, so I'm going to look at a couple of Wal-Mart's listed here LINK that are showing a "Walmart Money Center Express".

The FD clerk thinks I'm trying to avoid identity theft and that's why I'm loading my Serve. We're best of buds now though. I see him twice a week . Stupid Amex Gold $10k spend.

The ones at mine are at the check out lines and not at the gift card rack area so they can be hard to spot, but once you see them, there's a ton. Hopefully you have them there.

About to read your link.

You looking for Kates?
This link is the one I use

Match it up with a Walmart and there will be a Kate there. Working? That's another issue. I'm sure you've read the FT thread but if you find a working one, that is half the battle. Then you have the 9 digit PIN problem. IF that happens, move along.

ETA: Looks like your link matches up with my experience around here so that should work.

Stopping on the way home.

I went through it real quick. Not sure about this 9 digit thing. Damnit . I'll find out tomorrow.
