I can contribute a percentage of my income to funds listed with Fidelity via my company. They don't match, but will contribute 3% whether I contribute anything or not, which I guess is good.
There are many different funds to choose from and I can contribute 30% to one, 30% to another and 40% to another for example or 100% to just one or any combination I choose.
I have no idea what fund/funds to choose. There are some called the 2050 fund for example that you choose based on your estimated retirement date. Not sure those will be the best or not.
Advice needed please

Post a screen shot of all the options. That's what I did and everyone gave me great advice.

Right now, I have 50% large cap (FXSIX), 15% mid (FXEVX), 15% small (PSVIX), 20% Int'l (RERFX). I have 11% return so far.

Higher percentage allocation towards:
Bluechip growth (my fave)
Contrafund (solid as well but w/ higher than normal fees)
Small cap index (high risk, high reward)
S&p 500 index (conservative favorite)

Can't remember the name of the mid cap they offer but an allocation toward it will do wonders.

And small percentages to:
real estate fund
And International Growth Fund

Brokerage link.

Opens up the market to you if you like a hands on approach; even options if you choose to do so.

my brokerage link kicked the mutual fund portion of my 401k for quite a while. The last six month the mutual fund portion has kicked my brokerage link.

I have the Fidelity Low Price (FLPSX) and the Health Care (FSPHX).

Also good is the Fidelity Contrafund (FCNTX). I don't have it because of my age (too much Google and Apple for someone > 50).

So far my YTD return is 17% but I'm 40 and I just started investing about a year ago so I had to go aggressive, high/medium risk-high reward. I have been told to go mostly US funds but do not leave out the foreign markets. So my funds and percentage is as followed:

25-fid small cap discovery(FSCRX)
25-fid overseas(FOSFX)
25-fid contrafund(FCNTX)
25-SPTN TOT MKT IDX ADV(FSTVX)

You also have to see return vs cost. Some of these funds cost to invest in.

I'm thinking about getting out of the contrafund myself and get into something that's a little cheaper. With the same rate of return. I know my reason won't make sense to y'all money gurus but I just like to see my money buy more shares then it does now. At 90 bucks a share my 25 percent doesn't buy many shares. I'll keep what I got in it but try to find something more promising. But I'll second guess myself for the next 2 weeks lol so I have to stay away.
