So count me in as one of the suckers

As a consumer and someone currently enrolled with them, do I have to do anything regarding this? Will someone contact me if the suit wins? How does something like this typically work?

I got this thing in the mail the other day.

You get a ton of this type of garbage mailed to you.

The other being "Mortgage Protection."

I use them for biweekly payments, but I declined their interest minimizer program. Not really sure what to thing about it.

Now that I think about it, did Dave Ramsey ever plug this thing? I sense a huge collective money board splooge if he did.

Sounds like something he'd advocate

I never enrolled because of the fees. Yes, it would be easier but making one extra payment per year for free via check or online was far cheaper.

It seemed painfully obvious.

How do these things work? Company settles, lawyers get paid, you split a little of the settlement remaining, after the lawyers get a chunk, between a lot of people. You basically get nothing.

Lawyers go around looking for these things because they get paid. But, the class never really does.

I got a ad/letter from a company like this (not sure if this exact one, but the same service/idea) earlier this week. It claimed I could save 1,000s of dollars, but it made no sense as to how that would happen.

It seemed to me that I could get to the same place by simply paying an additional 1/12th of a mortgage payment ever month, and I could just do that myself.
