I'm looking for a good way to make a little money on the side of a full time job. I've considered different kinds of woodwork or even lawn care but it seems lawn care is so saturated right now, it would take a bigger commitment than just part-time. Or would it be best to have someone help me with something like this while I pay the start up. Thanks

Check these 2 threads. Topic was discussed fairly recently. I didn't read the threads all the way through but there may be some good info.

Drive for Uber. I've met a couple folks that are teachers or college professors who drive for Uber in the summers and their off time.

get into reffing sports.

I love reffing and currently do high school football and soccer, and club soccer.

Great extra money and free gym membership! (meaning the exercise doing it)

How much you get paid for reffing? Like $40-50 a game or something? How many games can you do a week(Soccer)?

High school soccer is about 35-50 per game (depends on center or line).

Usually two assignments a week with a JV and Varsity.

Club soccer is dang near year round these days and weekend tournaments are frequent. Can work 2-4 games each day at 30-45 each.

Lower level games are less time and less pay. all in it averages about $25 per hour minimum.

I did Volleyball and Basketball for LHSAA while in College. $200/week in cash was nice.

For High school sports you travel within your association but are paid for travel if it is outside of the associations home.

So for a New Orleans based official that gets sent to Destrehan, you will get game pay plus travel. It is definitely enough to pay for the travel costs
